Role
Who you are
- Experience in leadership of a team
- Experience in key handling, segregation of duties and split knowledge in a Cryptographic operations team
- Solid understanding of HSM technologies, Thales services, and technologies like HashiCorp Vault
- Previous experience in Financial Services, for example, banking, consumer lending, payments, and card issuing
- Understanding of Software Delivery pipelines and automating key management activities
- Solid grasp of various types of encryptions like File/Folder level encryption, database file encryption and application encryption
- Communication, problem-solving, documentation, and presentation skills
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of how to respond to security incidents
- Good understanding of security and compliance frameworks and standards for cryptography, e.g. PCI-DSS, PCI-PIN, PCI-CPP, NIST, FIPS
Desirable
- Proficiency in software engineering and infrastructure as code
- GitHub Actions and other CI/CD pipeline tooling
- Security Architecture and secure system design principles
What the job involves
- Lead all aspects of the implementation of secure key storage mechanisms to support a modern cloud-native consumer lending platform
- Lead a Cryptographic engineering team
- Support operational issues, should they arise
- Key generation and distribution
- Handle the entire lifecycle of cryptographic keys, including periodic reviews and replacements
- Policy development, including implementation of key management policies and procedures.
- Keep abreast of industry practices and standards related to key management
- Collaborate with cybersecurity and information security teams to integrate key management practices into NewDay's security strategy
- Participate in audits and assessments related to cryptographic key practices

Following on from its success in recent years it is focusing on further improving its product, forming a partnership with Checkout.com to process the £6 billion in payments its customers make each year. This will allow NewDay's infrastructure to scale along with the company's continued growth: something that's sure to be needed as Britain's largest brands continue to turn to NewDay to manage their credit offerings.
