Who you are

Strong experience with JVM languages (Scala, Java) or Kotlin for backend
Affinity with or interest in functional programming
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP also welcome)
Familiarity with microservices and distributed, event-driven systems
Professional proficiency in English

Desirable

Kotlin with Ktor and Arrow
Queue systems like Service Bus, RabbitMQ, or OpenMQ

What the job involves

As a Server-side Developer, you’ll play a key role in developing and migrating critical backend services for our auction platforms
Design, build, and maintain JVM-based microservices that power inventory, listings, bidding, and payment flows
Lead the migration of Klaravik’s legacy backend systems into our scalable microservice architecture
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, and Sweden
Tackle technical challenges hands-on, contribute to architectural decisions, and help define the future of our platform
