Role
Who you are
- You are a university graduate, and ideally, a degree in sustainability would be advantageous
- You have experience selling to the finance sector, insurance sector, and professional services (having worked in the financial sector yourself is a plus)
- You have a strong network within the financial sector in NY and the surrounding areas
- You have already closed large and complex sales deals exceeding $10 million
- You have enterprise sales experience of over 8 years
- You are an independent problem solver
- You have experience working in international organizations (knowledge of carbon markets, climate policy, etc., is a nice-to-have)
What the job involves
- Your mission is to drive sales growth for the US financial and professional services sector and position Climeworks as the leading CDR company in the mind of our prospects to accomplish our mission to reach at least 1billion ton of CO2 removal by 2050
- You win key customers, aligned with the vertical goals
- You help close existing opportunities and find ways to accelerate growth
- You conduct outreach to discover new leads and opportunities
- You build a robust sales funnel and accelerate opportunity creation
- You focus on bringing ongoing sales discussions to a close
- You reach and nurture C-level relationships of high-priority accounts (CSO, CFO, CEO as priority)
- You develop strategic relationships with top accounts and prospects
- You represent Climeworks at TOP US sectorial events for financial and PS and seek valuable partnerships within the sector
- Together with the other NY based Climeworkers, you will really experience the true Climeworks spirit and have the opportunity to build up Climeworks US culture
Our take
In the global fight against climate change, it is not only necessary to reduce emissions but also to remove carbon dioxide already released into the atmosphere. Climeworks is a company doing just this, operating direct air capture (DAC) to remove unavoidable and historic CO₂ emissions.
The company's DAC technology works in a 3-step process. Air is drawn in to a "collector" where it passes through a filter which traps CO₂ particles. Then, when the filter is full the collector closes and heats up. This causes the release of the trapped carbon dioxide, at which point it can be collected.
Once carbon dioxide is collected, it is permanently and securely store underground by the company's partner Carbfix in Iceland. Importantly, the DAC process uses renewable energy, energy-from-waste, or other waste heat to run, meaning it does not contribute to CO₂ emissions itself.
By tackling a vital and global issue, Climeworks no doubt has a wealth of opportunity at its feet. It has made some prominent partnerships to accelerate carbon removal, such as with Great Carbon Valley in Kenya and Deep Sky in Canada, through which it will bring large-scale DAC operations to fruition.
