Who you are
- Proven experience in product marketing, preferably in the software-as-a-service (SaaS) industry
- Strong understanding of product-led growth strategies and methodologies
- Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate effectively with various teams
- Experience in Identity and Access Management industry is a bonus
- Strong messaging and positioning skills with experience creating content to support all stages of the sales funnel
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Experience conducting customer interviews and being the “voice of the customer.”
- Experience with cloud marketplaces, developer communities, and the development technology ecosystem
- Education background in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field is preferred
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely
What the job involves
- The Principal Product Marketing Manager for Product Growth will drive product growth initiatives for the Okta Customer Identity Cloud
- This is a senior, individual contributor role and a strategic member of the Product Marketing team
- As a Principal Product Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic GTM plans that leverage the power of our products to drive customer acquisition, adoption, and sales
- You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Global Enablement, Customer First, PLG Partners, Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing, to deliver impactful go-to-market strategies
- Will report to the Senior Director of Product Marketing, Customer Identity Cloud
- Product Growth Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive revenue and product growth strategy for the Okta Customer Identity Cloud, focusing on customer acquisition, sales, onboarding, cross-sell, and expansion
- Go-to-Market Strategy: Develop highly targeted sales-facing pipe generation and pipe maturity motions. Leverage usage-based, cross/upsell, targeted new logo, or other measurable programs. Develop go-to-market plans, support sales enablement efforts, and activate these motions with Customer First, XDR, AE, SE, CF and Partner sales teams (working in collaboration with Global Enablement)
- Customer Insights: Continuously gather customer feedback, insights, and success stories to inform product improvements and influence marketing strategies
- Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape. Use these insights to inform product positioning and differentiation strategies
- Content Development: Create compelling product-related content, including website copy, blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, and sales presentations, to support marketing campaigns and sales initiatives
- Thought Leadership: Establish yourself as a subject matter expert in customer identity and product growth. Represent Okta at industry events, conferences, and webinars to showcase our expertise and build brand recognition
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Global Enablement, Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams to align product strategies with business objectives and ensure consistent messaging across all channels
- Analytics and Reporting: Define key metrics, track performance, and provide regular reporting on the success of product growth initiatives. Use data-driven insights to optimize marketing strategies and improve ROI
