Role
Who you are
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Growth / Performance marketing or Demand Generation in a startup environment or digital agency
- Track record building effective multi-channel marketing strategies from ideation to execution, across all funnel stages
- Expertise of growth marketing tools: ad platforms (Google Ads, Meta, Apple Search, Linkedin, etc.), attribution methods, CRM/automation systems and robust technical skills that enable you to get your hands dirty on every initiative and engage in deep technical discussions with our Data and Product teams
- Strong analytical skills and capacity to report on budget, performance and forecast. Knowledge of key marketing ratios and efficiency metrics (LTV:CAC, ROAS…)
- Curiosity for all things growth and ability to stay on top of your game on latest digital trends and growth techniques
- A creative spirit and startup mindset, with a desire to learn from peers and share your knowledge
- Fluency in French and English
What the job involves
- You will own the growth marketing strategy for Getaround in Europe, from user acquisition to retention. You have the unique opportunity to shape the roadmap for initiatives that will fuel growth across our markets. Your missions will be:
- Drive the strategy, budget and execution of new driver acquisition and retention through all online channels - including SEO, SEA, Paid Social, CRM and Referral partnerships
- Oversee customer lifecycle metrics, from onboarding to conversion and retention, working closely with Product and Data teams to launch and test initiatives that will improve our funnel and lifecycle metrics
- Design, execute and analyze marketing campaigns: identify opportunities, prioritize projects, monitor execution, budget and performance. Collaborate closely with our Brand team for impactful creatives and messaging
- Contribute to Product roadmaps by submitting and sizing initiatives, framing needs, engaging in technical discussions, following-up on execution and impact tracking
- Analyze performance and set up reportings and dashboards to drive predictable growth and enable actionable decisions. Optimize our attribution model to ensure a precise understanding of return on investment and efficient budget allocation for future initiatives
- Continuously experiment and iterate to optimize the playbook for demand growth across our markets
- Lead and manage the growth marketing team locally (2 direct reports and 1 freelancer), nurture talents and develop your team’s strengths
- You will be part of the Marketing team, and report directly to Marie, VP of Marketing for Europe, as well as dotted line to Reese, VP of Marketing NA and Global Head of Growth
- Your role is European: you will work from our office in Paris, for all the European countries where Getaround operates
- On ad-hoc basis you will also be able to take part and lead global growth projects for the company
- You will work closely with our North-America team to share best practices and mutualize efforts whenever possible
Our take
Getaround has an ambition to create a world where every car is a shared car. Like AirBnb before them, Getaround’s founders saw that assets sat idle could be shared on a platform. This would allow users to earn rent from cars while facilitating travel for those unable to afford their own.
As a pioneer in the field, the company has established an impressive network of 6 million users in over 100 cities. That in turn means that compared to upstart competitors like Turo and Maven, they can deliver an altogether more convenient service and products like a ‘Power Host’ program (similar to AirBnb’s).
The companies most challenging competition is now coming from rival mobility startups like Lime and Bird. To match them on environmental credentials, the company plans to only allow electric and low-emission vehicles on their platform from 2030.
Like many companies in the space, a continuing challenge for Getaround is with regulators who are concerned by the abuse of participants in the gig-economy system. After a SPAC IPO through a merger with InterPrivate II Acquisition Group in 2022, share values made its public market debut Friday through a merger with blank-check company InterPrivate II Acquisition Corp. The company saw its share value drop more than 65%, reflecting the chilly environment for both SPACs and ridesharing companies. Investment in their public affairs and a renewed interest in car sharing are helping to turn the tide for Getaround.
