Role
Who you are
- You have a degree in Design, HCI, or equivalent professional experience
- You have a portfolio that demonstrates a strong, clean visual style
- You have familiarity with common design tools (we work with Figma + Adobe Creative Suite)
- You have experience working collaboratively with developers and product owners in an agile way
- You have a keen eye for detail
- You are able to rapidly solve problems, choosing the right tools at the right time
- You are a clear communicator who is motivated by feedback
- Experience in data analysis, knowledge of SQL and experience conducting qualitative user research would be advantageous
Desirable
- You are not afraid to pick up new skills in other areas to help the team move faster
- Healthcare or beauty industry experience
- Experience working in a D2C subscription brand is desirable
- Experience working with mobile-first customer facing web applications
What the job involves
- We’re looking for an experienced Product Designer to join our Product Team at Skin + Me
- You will be working alongside the Head of Product Design on a new business area covering the whole scope of design, including:
- Stakeholder management:
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops and ideation sessions
- Advocate for the value of UX in the broader organisation
- Qualitative research:
- Clearly articulate your research goals to earn buy in and validate your designs in the early stages of development
- Plan and conduct user research using a variety of techniques, work with Customer Service to pick up insights
- Develop and promote a good understanding of the customer journey through all different touchpoints, not just web
- Quantitative research:
- We are a data driven organisation, most new features are A/B tested out. You'll need to propose experiments with a clear view on what success looks like
- You’ll need to follow up with your experiments, maintain relevant documentation and circulate the learnings
- Product Design:
- Produce innovative design solutions which are informed by data and the insights you’ve gathered
- Explore a wide range of possible UI solutions. Graceful degradation of initial concepts to narrow down the scope, and get to production faster
- Work closely with copywriters and graphic designers to weave a compelling narrative on our digital environments
- Work closely with engineering to deliver high quality experience, collaboratively finding the leanest possible implementation
- Project Management:
- As a junction of knowledge our Product Designers are often required to write tickets for the tech, copy or creative team
- UAT your projects, to ensure high fidelity implementation

Back in 2018, Skin + Me's founders identified a huge problem in the world of skincare: people don’t just struggle with their skin – they struggle with how they’re supposed to deal with it. With no truly effective solutions available, the company set out to build a pioneering online dermatology service that provides personalised skincare.
Skin + Me takes customers through a simple online medical consultation and work with dermatologists to prescribe a treatment, personalised to the individual. Part of the company's unique selling point is that its made-to-order formulation arrives through a subscription box each month and comes in a ‘Daily Doser’ – a specially designed bottle that dispenses the exact amount of the product needed for daily application.
Skin + Me is supported by a team of dermatologists, pharmacists and direct-to-consumer experts, which allows it to deliver across the business - from skin science to building the technology platform behind it. The company's growth plans include continual development of its services while ensuring it sticks to its ethos: providing desired, effective, and personalised skincare.
