Director of Payroll, Amplify

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
• 8+ years of experience in payroll management
• 5+ years of management experience
• In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, labor laws, taxation and statutory compliance in the U.S
• Experience in multi-state payroll management and supporting a remote workforce
• Proficiency in payroll software and systems (e.g. Workday, ADP, SAP)
• Excellent understanding of financial principles and the ability to reconcile payroll with financial records
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing complex payroll calculation data
• Strong organizational and time management skills to meet strict payroll deadlines and manage multiple priorities
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
• High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and time and attendance systems

• Amplify is seeking a Director of Payroll with in-depth knowledge of payroll processing, operations, and compliance to support a nationally dispersed workforce
• In this role, you will design short and long-term strategies to achieve continuous improvement and efficiencies in payroll processing building and instituting payroll best practices for the organization
• You will possess strong knowledge of payroll regulations, exceptional organizational skills and a commitment to maintain confidentiality
• The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and leadership skills to manage the payroll team and collaborate with other departments to ensure that payroll operations align with the organization’s overall business strategy
• Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with applicable payroll laws, regulations, and company policies
• Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate payment of all employees
• Administer and maintain payroll systems, ensure data integrity and implement system upgrades and enhancements
• Manage the payroll team and facilitate training and development
• Generate payroll-related data for budgeting and forecasting purposes
• Lead efforts to streamline payroll processes, implementing automation where appropriate to reduce manual input and increase efficiency
• Collaborate with human resources and finance departments to seamlessly integrate payroll and employee data
• Maintain confidentiality and data security standards for all payroll-related information
• Identify and mitigate risks related to payroll, ensuring timely and accurate processing to avoid penalties, fines or other compliance issues
• Stay updated on payroll regulations, tax laws and industry trends, implementing necessary changes to ensure compliance and best practices
• Lead payroll audits and liaise with auditors during financial and compliance reviews, ensuring proper documentation and reporting of payroll activities
• Establish payroll key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve payroll efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness
• Collaborate with HR to ensure seamless integration of payroll with employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other deductions
• Ensure the availability and effectiveness of employee self-service portals for viewing paychecks, managing direct deposits, and updating tax forms
