Who you are

As engineers ourselves, we know how hard it is to quantify knowledge with degrees and years, so there are no strict requirements. Ideal candidate will have:
Worked as a full stack developer or a frontend engineer
Intuition for well designed software and beautiful, usable interfaces
Experience building websites or applications with JavaScript, React and Python/Node.js
Motivation and the drive to solve difficult problems without guidance
Ability to ruthlessly prioritise in a chaotic and ambiguous environment
Grit to thrive in a small team with loads of autonomy

What the job involves

Work with PMs, designers and engineers to decide what to build, scope and then build it
Build/improve the avatar creator and map making tool
Defining experience on mac, windows, status bar and mobile apps
Building the direct and group Messaging features
Build NPC bots to help test scalability of our video and game infrastructure
Third party integrations (e.g. calendar, figma, miro)
Improving the map UX and making the map more immersive (e.g. keyword bubbles over avatars…)
Payment flows
Venue admin and moderation tooling

Our take

Remote working is convenient, but video conferencing lacks some of the spontaneity and feeling of physical meetings. Cosmos Video's virtual space allows team members to see each other's faces and communicate in real-time, but unlike competitors such as Google Meet, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams, users get their own customisable avatars in the virtual HQ. They can move around to sit next to their colleagues and work, discuss projects in meeting rooms or simply hang out.

So far, the startup has over 10,000 daily users from hundreds of teams around the world, including those from early-stage startups, scale-ups and a few big companies such as Revolut, Citymapper and monday.com.

Cosmos is working on Windows and Mac apps of the platform as well as custom interactions to launch productivity tools. It is also increasing other features, such as more multiplayer games on the game table, to make the platform as organic as possible for remote teams.
