Role
Who you are
- The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and experienced in scaling finance practices in fast-moving startups
- 3–5 years of finance/accounting experience
- CPA preferred; audit background (e.g., Big 4 or similar) a strong plus
- Experience in high-growth startups or tech companies
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition, collections, and GAAP
- Proficient with modern finance tools
- Extremely detail-oriented and process-driven
- Clear communicator who can distill financial data for non-financial audiences
- Collaborative mindset with strong judgment and discretion
What the job involves
- Finch is hiring a Finance & Accounting Manager to lead core accounting and financial operations as we scale
- This role will partner closely with the founders, finance vendors, and cross-functional leaders to ensure our financial foundation is accurate, efficient, and future-proof
- Own monthly reconciliation of revenue, billing, and collections, including coordination with bookkeepers and customers
- Manage AR/AP operations, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and collections strategy
- Design and implement automated workflows for collections and expense tracking
- Select and implement AI tools to streamline various financial operations
- Update the company’s financial model and forecasts based on inputs from Sales, Success, and other teams
- Develop and maintain department-level budgets, and provide insights and reports to executive stakeholders
- Maintain accurate financial records in our accounting systems and tools
- Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and audit requirements in partnership with external counsel
- Evaluate and improve internal financial policies and controls
- Manage and optimize tooling across finance stack including Rillet, Brex, Mercury, Ramp, Glean, and Orb among others
Our take
HR teams often deal with disparate systems for employee information and payroll that don't line up neatly with one another. This requires a large amount of manual data entry, slowing vital processes down. Finch exists to solve this, providing APIs that allow companies to build a unified process and single dashboard for all a company's HR functions.
Through Finch, HR teams can manage employee benefit contributions, onboard new employees and much more without having to manually pull data from spreadsheets, pdfs and internal servers. Though it isn't the only company tackling this issue, Finch stands out for security features which allow for the data it handles to be encrypted in transit as well as at rest.
The company has raised significant funding which support further product development and the expansion of its team, especially across engineering, product and customer success. As the company is already revenue positive, and the demand for its product is only growing, Finch is well poised for future success.
