Role
Who you are
- We’re looking for software engineers who are excited to make big changes, teach, learn and grow
- Knowledge of programming languages and software development standard processes to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Experience developing for financial tools / ERP systems
- Prior experience working with Finance teams a plus
- Analytical and problem solving skills to identify and resolve issues that arise during projects to minimize delays and keep projects on track
- Experience with multi-functional teams including developers, product managers, and partners to meet project and organizational goals
- Solid data modeling skills for assessing and expanding our domain
- Strong architectural/architectural design experience working at scale
- Experience mentoring other engineers
- Proficiency in our stack which is top-to-bottom JavaScript (and TypeScript); experience working with SQL ideal and suitescript knowledge a plus
- There’s a focus on quality in everything you deliver from code, to architecture, to group messages
- You are always looking to improve your environment and take things from good to great
- Detail oriented internally and externally. You love to build accurate mental models of how things work
- Focused on seeking out contrasting opinions so you can learn and grow

- You’ll work with a talented engineering “pawd” to partner with finance to automate and improve existing processes
- Big fan of short feedback loops
- You’ll deliver high quality, well-tested and peer-reviewed code to production in minutes using our automated CI/CD pipeline

- You’ll regularly white board, pair program and review architecture with top-notch peers with experience working at Amazon, Google, Disney, and Apple

Our take
Pet food production in the US is held to alarmingly low safety and quality standards despite being a $99 billion industry, which is hidden behind loose labeling and marketing regulations. When one of the founders of The Farmer's Dog realised that dog food was making his dog sick, they decided that dogs shouldn't be fed anything that wouldn't pass legal requirements for humans.
The Farmer’s Dog produces customised dog food packages that are sent as a regular subscription service. Recipes behind the dog food are personalised and are comprised of natural and high-quality ingredients, aiming to meet the dietary requirements of each individual dog. As the dog food is human-grade, the company even taste-tests its recipes on humans.
The startup sends millions of meals every month and boasts a continual subscription rate of almost 50%. It has raised $50 million in funding to date and is developing new pet food products and scaling to offer its subscription service outside of the US.
