Role
Who you are
- We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Intern to join our Finance team for the summer
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
- Passion for numbers, data, spreadsheets, and a keen attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and dig deep into financial data
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analysis in simple terms
- Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Knowledge of common analysis Excel functions (e.g. VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) a plus
- Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment with a collaborative team
What the job involves
- Term: 4 months (May to August 2025)
- This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial analysis and reporting, while contributing to the success of a rapidly growing company in the pet food industry
- As an FP&A Intern, you will work closely with our FP&A team and other cross-functional teams, providing you with a well-rounded experience in financial reporting, forecasting, and business performance analysis
- You will be exposed to various aspects of the finance function, contributing to data-driven decision-making processes and helping us continue to build our mission-driven company
- Assist in the preparation of reports, including monthly and quarterly financial forecasts, budget vs. actual analysis, and variance analysis
- Support the FP&A team in building financial models and providing insights to improve operational efficiency
- Aid in the creation of financial presentations for leadership, with clear visualizations of key data
- Conduct data research and analysis, identifying trends and potential areas for improvement across financial performance
- Collaborate with various business units to gather data, understand business drivers, and ensure alignment with financial objectives
- Support the business in ad-hoc projects and special assignments as needed
- All other duties, as assigned

From its recipes to its packaging, the company displays a strong focus on ethics and environmental responsibility, and stands out for its transparency.
As consumer sentiment trends towards more conscious purchasing, there is a widening market for products such as Open Farm's. The company has been steadily growing its presence in the expanding pet food sector, and introduced an online carbon footprint tool that allows consumers to see the carbon footprint of all its products.
