Role
Who you are
- You have 7+ years as a product manager, capable of owning new feature launches from start to finish and collaborating smoothly across diverse stakeholder groups
- With 5+ years of experience in a leadership role in Product Management
- Experience working on consumer-facing teams focusing on UX, design, and experimentation
- Previous experience in leading and managing product teams and creating a product roadmap and strategy
- A Bachelor’s degree in statistics, maths, economics or computer science
- Excellent analytical abilities with strong user empathy and awareness motivated by qualitative and quantitative research methods to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions
- Are competent in statistics. You can demonstrate the ability to design experiments and correctly interpret results
- You have excellent written and spoken communication in English
- Put focus on supporting team interaction, boosting motivation and value contributions
What the job involves
- In your role as Associate Director of Product - Consumer (m/f/d) you will be play a key role in setting the product vision and strategy that is revolutionizing the way that people buy their groceries
- Lead the vision, strategy and roadmap for the product within the consumer domain
- Build and iterate on a top-notch user experience
- You are eager to dive deep into the details and objectives of the business, and to work with your teams of product managers, engineers, and other Directors, to deliver measurable results
- You will be responsible for recruiting and growing the office domain
- Lead and coach a team of Product Managers
- Influence and drive change in the creation and development of a digital product in an operations-heavy company
- Identify and improve ways of working, both within and across teams and functions
Our take
Online grocery delivery services in Europe range from early supermarket-specific services to the more recent success of mobile food-ordering applications. However despite thier proliferation grocery delivery services still face long waiting lists and logistic bottlenecks, with faster solutions coming with a compromise on the range and quality of products.
Flink provides an online website and mobile application for the delivery of fresh fruit, vegetables, and other organic-quality groceries to European homes. The company provides its services to 100 different European cities across Germany, the Netherlands and France, and claims that its grocery deliveries are provided at supermarket prices within 10 minutes of ordering.
Flink is one of the few remaining independent grocery delivery startups in Europe, with most of the others either having been acquired or shut down. German rival Gorillas for instance ate through its initial investments and was taken over in 2022. Flink has been playing a more conservative strategy, aiming for more steady growth, but had to receive a fresh investment round of 100 million euros in 2024 to help it outlast competitors. Rumors of a potential merger with competitor companies indicate the lengths that Flink is going to maintain its dominance in a market that, at present, is suffering from lower demand and higher costs.
