Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree / Master's degree in HR, Business Administration or related field
You have minimum of 2 years of HR experience in Spain. Experience in a tech/SaaS company is a plus
You have knowledge of Spanish employment law
You have strong organizational skills and high level of rigor

You have excellent interpersonal skills
You have a proactive and autonomous mindset
You have a strong team spirit
You have good adaptation skills
You are fluent in English and Spanish, and a basic understanding of Catalan and French is a plus

What the job involves

As part of our international HR strategy for 2025, we are looking to build local HR teams in key markets. Spain will be the first to welcome a dedicated HR Generalist in 2025
This position represents a unique opportunity to join a company at a pivotal moment of its international growth, working directly with our global HR team of 24 Luccasians while having significant autonomy to shape local HR practices
As of today, the global HR team includes the following teams: HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partnering, Learning & Development, Compensation & Benefits, Workplace & Event management)
As our first HR Generalist in Spain, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining a strong company culture while ensuring smooth HR operations locally
You'll be the main point of contact for our Spanish employees while working closely with our global HR team based in France
HR Operations (40%)
Manage end-to-end onboarding process for new Spanish employees
Handle employment contracts, internship agreements, and HR documentation
Handle employee benefits (meal vouchers, sport pass, etc.)
Maintain employee data accuracy in our HRIS (Socle RH)
Coordinate with our payroll provider Aselain to prepare our monthly payroll
Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations
Workplace Management (20%)
Oversee the Barcelona office operations
Implement and maintain Lucca's culture and rituals locally
Manage office logistics and ensure a great working environment
Organize team events and activities
HR Business Partnership (20%)
Provide day-to-day HR support to Spanish employees and managers
Support career development discussions and performance management
Handle sensitive situations and conflict resolution
Participate in talent reviews and succession planning
Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding (10%)
Act as local relay for recruitments organized by the global team (logistics, candidate reception, participation in interviews when necessary)
Adapt and implement locally the global employer branding strategy
Manage relationships with local schools and universities
Represent Lucca at recruitment events
Learning & Development (5%)
Identify local training needs and coordinate with global L&D team
Ensure compliance with local training requirements
Support the organization of training sessions in Barcelona
Compensation & Benefits (5%)
Contribute to local market benchmarking
Support the implementation of global C&B strategies locally
Monitor local benefits programs

Our take

Business administration has long been a significant cost, with inefficiencies in payroll, procurement, and internal processes swallowing a large amount of time and effort. An early entrant in the SaaS market, Lucca has been providing finance and administrative software to businesses since 2002, offering solutions for time and activity management, expense reporting and annual reviews - to name just a few of its products.

While there's always been a market for this kind of product, HR tech has really exploded in the past few years. Several younger firms have been making big waves in the space, such as Omnipresent and Staffbase which both received outsized funding in 2022. This is perhaps why Lucca sought investor funding after being bootstrapped for twenty years, closing a major funding round to fuel its expansion across France and beyond.

With a customer base of over 6,000 companies - which includes Accor, Deezer and Rip Curl - and rapid annual revenue growth at more than 40% per year, Lucca is well positioned to take advantage of the HR tech boom. The company has big plans - it aims to use its funding and revenue to scale its operations, aiming to hire 400 more employees and reach revenues of over €100 million per year by 2025. To do this it is taking aim at not just the French business sector but beyond, beginning with Spain and Switzerland as well as growing its customer base of international enterprises.
