We anticipate the role being focused 60% on backend, 20% on machine learning, and 20% on other areas
You certainly don't need to be an expert in all of these areas; but should be excited to learn new skill sets as you need them
The above tools span code in our machine learning stack to date - your opinions on new technologies that we adapt for new tasks will be highly valued

What the job involves

In the beginning, you will be tackling projects in close collaboration with your fellow machine learning and product team members
As you progress in your knowledge of Roboflow’s mission and tools, you will have a wide degree of freedom to advocate for and drive your own projects
Projects you might work on in your first few months:
Improving and expanding the capabilities of the Roboflow Inference Server
Building an ecosystem of add-ons that work closely with the Roboflow Inference Server to enable features like device tracking, active learning, etc
Ensuring uptime of training and inference infrastructure
Iterating on training infrastructure to provide the best experience for our AutoML users while incurring the least cost for Roboflow
Integrating Autodistill into the Roboflow platform to bootstrap projects with zero shot labeling

Our take

Despite the value of computer vision, companies can find it difficult to build and leverage effective models. Roboflow solves this problem by making it easier for developers to build computer vision products.

With new applications for computer vision becoming increasingly important for modern enterprises, companies like Roboflow stand to see impressive gains in the coming years. The company is accelerating development of its computer vision platform as it helps bridge the gap between AI and human inteligence.

Roboflow's main challenge will be competing with similar companies. However, the support of backers such as Y Combinator and Craft Ventures will help to ensure the company remains competitive.
