Who you are
- 1+ years sales experience in sales or customer service
- An outbound/hunting pro
- Experience demonstrating complex software live, over zoom, or similar tool

- Proficiency with Salesforce, ability to manage entire pipeline

What the job involves
- Direct Sales Activity
- Identify, prospect and qualify barbershop owners through various channels such as phone calls, email, social media, and events
- Manage a robust sales pipeline and follow up with prospective customers to drive to the close
- Provide brand awareness, insights, and success stories with prospective customers to help articulate a customized value proposition
- Document calls, emails, and other relevant sales activity inside Salesforce
- Partner with internal team members from Sales, Product, and/or Client Success to support deal closure
- Product Demos
- Schedule and give product demos to prospective customers showcasing key features and functionality
- Understand prospective customers, their business, their pain points, and showcase how our software makes an impact and adds value
- Work closely with our Product and Customer Success teams to uniquely position our product to shop owners
- Identify key stakeholders and schedule follow-up demos to shorten the sales cycle
- Attend trade shows and events as required to represent and promote SQUIRE
- Contract Negotiation
- Negotiate new customer contracts, obtaining appropriate approvals for any non-standard terms or conditions
- Defend standard net payment terms and invoicing schedule
Our take
Squire takes point-of-sale management tools and focuses them entirely on the needs of barbershops. Before launching, co-founder Dave Salvant spent time talking to 600 different barbershop owners to understand the boxes Squire had to tick to be a worthwhile product. This included taking cashless payments and providing key insight into employee productivity, hours worked, and commission calculations.
This time spent in barbershops paid off, as Squire now has more than 2,000 customers in North America and the UK. There is considerable opportunity in the United States alone, as they have a potential customer base of more than 135,000 barbershops.
In March 2020, Squire’s revenue fell to zero when the COVID-19 pandemic forced barbershops to close. Luckily, the company had raised $34 million just days before this in a Series B funding round, which enabled it to help barbershops adapt and survive during their lockdowns. Now things have returned to normal, Squire is in high demand and in 2025, is valued at $750 million.
