Who you are
- You have 4+ years of experience writing, deploying and monitoring End-To-End and Integration Test Suites written in JavaScript and have a deep knowledge of testing frameworks such as MochaJS, Selenium, Appium, Jasmine, Jest or Enzyme
- You care about helping make quality mental health care realistically accessible to millions of people nationwide

What the job involves
- You will have the opportunity to work within a diverse and dynamic engineering team that is building a set of products that will become the new standard in digital therapeutics
- In the process, you’ll learn a LOT about chatbots, CI/CD pipelines, batch run environments and mobile and cloud-based platforms
- Your mission will be to lead the Woebot engineering automated test strategy for the months and years to come
- Ramping up:
- In your first 4-5 weeks, you will have read and digested our entire E2E and Integration test codebase, have made several small enhancements and bug fixes, and have come up with a list of recommendations for improving the existing test suites
- You will have learnt a lot about the workings of the Woebot platform (code and content) and know exactly where the automated test suites fit in
- And you’ll have done this by rolling up your sleeves and diving into manual testing of new features as they are developed. We feel passionately that hands-on testing is an integral part of every engineer’s workflow, particularly that of a test automation engineer and we are looking for candidates who share this belief
- Improve Woebot quality from the ground up:
- By day 45 you will know the automated test suites well and are now the first port of call when existing automated tests need to be updated
- By day 60 you’ve designed and built out one new automated test suite. This will most likely be a mobile E2E test suite
- Build automated test suites that allow us to scale with confidence:
- By day 90 you are owning the automated test planning and writing arm of the team
- You know exactly where to find automated test failures and what significance they have for releases and the workings of the production platform
- You are involved in the specification of new features
- You are making valuable contributions to the planning of the team’s short to medium term automated test strategy
- You are leading the automated test writing efforts of other members of the team. That means reviewing all automated test PRs ensuring that they meet your high standards
- Core responsibilities:
- Building and maintaining new and existing integration test suites
- Building a new End-To-End test infrastructure for our iOS and Android mobile apps and our web apps
- Ensuring and monitoring the reliable operation of our automated test suites
- Supporting automated test updates to our CI/CD pipeline
- Contributing to the planning and specification of the verification of new feature functionality
- Compiling periodic reports on the operation of our automated test suites

Its flagship therapeutic solutions - currently in development for postpartum depression - has been granted FDA Breakthrough Device status. The company initial focus was a D2C AI chatbot app but as of June 2025, it's no longer available. The company decided to strategically pivot to focus on partnerships with clinically validated tools, aiming for a bigger, more sustainable impact. The bot that once helped users through tough days is still around, just working in new ways, in more places, and with some serious science backing.
