What the job involves
- We’re looking for a sharp, strategic, and highly proactive Executive Assistant to support our Chief Business Officer (CBO).
- This is not your typical EA role — you’ll serve as a trusted partner and force multiplier, ensuring the CBO operates at peak efficiency across all areas of the business.
- From managing key initiatives to driving execution across teams, you'll be deeply embedded in high-priority work and play a critical role in keeping the organization aligned and moving forward.
- You anticipate needs before they arise, communicate with clarity and discretion, and bring structure to complexity.
- This is an in-office role based in Los Angeles, with significant visibility and impact across the company
- Serve as the right hand to the CBO — acting as their eyes and ears, staying plugged in across the org, and proactively identifying areas that need attention or follow-up
- Manage and organize the CBO’s inbox — prioritizing emails, drafting responses, and ensuring nothing slips through the cracks
- Own calendar management and scheduling, keeping a strong pulse on priorities, time management, and upcoming needs
- Stay on top of task and project follow-ups for the broader team, ensuring deadlines are met and momentum is maintained
- Lead the coordination and execution of OKR, KPI, and biannual planning cycles — keeping the process smooth, timely, and aligned with company goals
- Take first passes at strategy and research docs the CBO wants to explore — gathering insights, structuring ideas, and surfacing key takeaways
- Act as a gatekeeper and primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare meeting agendas, take notes, and track follow-ups to ensure action items are completed
- Assist with travel coordination, expense reporting, and document prep
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams to ensure smooth communication and operational alignment
- Anticipate needs, solve problems proactively, and constantly look for ways to maximize efficiency and impact
Our take
Traditionally, most media was created and controlled by a few central organizations. Then, the internet came along and platforms like YouTube and Facebook democratized content creation while controlling distribution. Now, with the advent of blockchain technologies, Passes is attempting to decentralize power to the creators themselves.
The company delivers a platform for creators to scale their content and own their audiences. For example, a creator could monetize exclusive content such as special merch or even private phone calls. In theory, this should be a dream for creators, but Web 3.0 platforms such as Passes have found that in practice it can be difficult to onboard users.
With that said, Passes claims it is growing and profitable, with payments to creators in the nine figure range. It is also well-funded and acquired rival monetization platform Fanhouse. It should be noted that the company was sued in 2024 over alleged anti-competitive practices, and more recently faces a class-action lawsuit accusing it of distributing child pornography - though Passes strongly refutes these claims.
