Who you are
- You have a proven track record of at least 10 years of experience leading relevant consumer experiences
- You possess case studies that demonstrate how you led design for major consumer projects from inception to release

What the job involves
- Fubo is looking for a VP of Design, Core Experience to join its Design team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for helping design the future of TV by leading a team of designers tasked with crafting a compelling and engaging experience across Fubo’s platforms
- You will lead design for Fubo’s core experience across its TV, Mobile and Desktop platforms
- You will lead design for company priorities that will take Fubo to the next level
- You will lead a team of UX and UI designers
- You will help visualize where Fubo’s core experience needs to go through a combination of documentation, prototypes and visuals
- You will work closely with your peers and stakeholders to debate ideas, negotiate perspectives and accelerate progress towards a shared vision

- Talent Acquisition Screen:
- First is a 30-minute phone or video interview with a member of the Talent Acquisition team. This is an opportunity for you to learn more about Fubo and the role you are interviewing for, while highlighting your background and skills
- Manager or Tech Screen:
- The second stage of the process is a one-hour video call with the hiring manager or a senior member of the team. Engineering positions typically require live coding with another engineer
- Panel-Style Interview:
- The third and typically final stage of the interview process is a panel-style interview. It’s two-to-five hours, either virtually or in person, and a great chance to meet various team members you will work with closely

Our take
Fubo is a live sports streaming service that operates in the United States, Canada, France and Spain. It differentiates itself from other sports braodcasters as sitting at the intersection between traditional cable and streaming, positioning itself as a must-have media provider for sports fans, with an internally-built tech stack allowing for instant replays and live interaction with sporting events.
While its core offering has always been in sports, Fubo built up a strong entertainment service, carrying content from numerous other networks and studios. Following its 2020 IPO its stocks rose sharply as a serious contender against older streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu. By the end of 2022 it had an audience of 1.5 million North American subscribers and over $1 billion in annual global revenue.
Despite its strong growth, the company has entered a difficult period. Beginning to lose the market share it had taken from its competitors, it is also reducing its entertainment services and withdrawing from the sports betting market, with knock-on effects for its share prices. While still a popular service (research from TVision shows ads on Fubo Captured 35% More Attention Than Ads on CTV in General), it remains to be seen if sports fans (and investors) will stay with Fubo in the longer term, especially if it can't thread the needle of profitability in an environment of rising costs and intense competition.
