Role
Who you are
- Strong experience managing Oracle production database on AWS, knowledge of Kubernetes, EC2, and EKS
- Experience developing database automation frameworks for sophisticated systems in AWS
- Experience in scaling sophisticated relational database systems in AWS
- Experience with developing database tooling
- Experience in High-performance, low-latency, high-availability (99.99%), and self-recoverable systems
- Experience in tuning Oracle memory and supporting a high-performance large-scale platform in public cloud
- 2+ years of working experience in scripting/programming languages (Shell, Python, Golang, Ruby)
- Experience supporting a high-performance large-scale platform in public cloud
- Perform basic DBA tasks in Production and Staging environments
- Experience in a Linux cloud environment with fluency in command line interfaces and shell scripting Bash, Shell
- Experience in PL/SQL development and optimization
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience in working in a 24/7 team managing large cloud environments and willingness to participate in on-call rotation
- You agree to complete a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) for a Moderate Public Trust position with the U.S. federal government or other clearances as deemed appropriate for the role
What the job involves
- You will help deliver impactful technology that will enable capacity management through scalable, intelligent data migration and cloud infrastructure enhancement
- Solve infrastructure related problems with code (with a focus on reusability) and master building compute capacity and worked on Kubernetes deployments at scale
- Lead key projects in the design, development, and post-release support of the Salesforce platform and tools that are used by a variety of internal teams to support our government customers
- Collaborate with internal teams for efficient iterations of automated CI/CD pipelines with the goal of maintaining service owner feature velocity, troubleshooting, and reproducing issues reported in production environments
- Understand how things work with a large-scale production infrastructure within 3rd party cloud service providers
- Transform human-heavy processes into automated governance solutions
- Create and maintain detailed documentation
- Actively participate in database automation and feature enhancement on-premise and public cloud platforms
- Design and development of the core database infrastructure and functionalities
- Come up with innovative ideas to improve performance, scalability, and resilience in a large-scale platform
- Implement comprehensive functional and system-test for your area of responsibility and for overall database quality
- Define, develop, and deploy system monitoring requirements/thresholds as well as corrective actions. Improve the system reliability via predictive analysis
- Design, develop, deploy, and enhance automation to optimally own the platform infrastructure
- Design and scale out services in our multi-tenant infrastructure
- Collaborate with and provide detailed feedback to internal/External Database cloud stakeholders on resiliency initiatives
- Participate in production Incident Management to support any service-based issues
