Who you are
- The role requires accuracy, timely delivery and communication and lots of enthusiasm!
- You’ll have a good practical knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting concepts (Spanish GAAP, IFRS)
- You’ll demonstrate excellent organisational skills and have the ability to prioritise and deliver
- You’ll have a keen eye for detail and you’ll be proactive in your approach to problem solving
- As we operate in a paperless setting and on a hybrid work environment, you’ll be keen to innovate and employ your strong IT skills
- You’ll have a good appreciation of working in a value adding team to deliver shared objectives
What the job involves
- The Finance Team is responsible for putting in place appropriate systems and processes to keep the business financially sustainable and legally compliant
- Right now, the finance team is focussed on delivering continuous improvement to drive business value as we gear for growth
- This is very much a hands-on operational role in which you will support the finance function through efficient and accurate entry and maintenance of bookkeeping records, in a paperless setting, for the international group with a focus on activities of the Spanish entity
- You’ll prepare weekly payment runs, dealing with multiple currencies and bank accounts
- You’ll effectively business partner with the wider finance team and key stakeholders to support the delivery of timely financial insights and meet reporting obligations
- You’ll also have the opportunity to engage and contribute as we evaluate and innovate to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our finance systems

Our take
Satellite data is critical in order to solve some of the world's most pressing matters, such as climate change and the loss of biodiversity. While data and precise analytical tools able to draw insights are available, the problem is they lack interoperability between platforms and the ability to combine this data from different satellites is inaccessible.
Founded in 2015, Open Cosmos is a SpaceTech startup with the aim to simplify access to space. The company designs, manufactures and operates satellites that are part of its "Open Constellation". Meanwhile its platform, DataCosmos, makes satellite data access easier for organisations and governments, combining earth observation data from multiple sources to help with the mitigation of environmental and sustainability challenges.
Partnerships with organisations such as Innovate UK, ESA and the UK Space Agency are supporting Open Cosmos as it expands operations, growing its team and ideas. Most recently. the company revealed it will be manufacturing the first 6G satellite research lab, the 6GStarLab. A huge step for the company that will position it at the forefront of next-generation space-based communication.
