Our take
Recent advances in AI have led to an upheaval across the entire tech sector, with companies racing to implement the new technology for a huge range of solutions. However, the costs of storing and accessing the vast amount of data needed to train an AI can be staggering, especially for enterprise-level applications.
Granica exists to solve this problem, providing a platform which increases the efficiency of data access and storage for machine learning purposes. Running quietly in the background it compresses data and removes duplicates while also ensuring privacy is preserved for sensitive data, freeing it for use in AI training. In doing so it reduces scanning costs by 90% and cuts cloud storage and transfer costs by up to 80%.
The company has only recently emerged from stealth following a major mid-2023 funding round. Despite this it has already established an impressive customer base including the likes of Google, Amazon, Nylas, Quantum Metric, and HERE Technologies. Granica will move to expand its enterprise customer base and is likely to see a high degree of success as major companies increasingly integrate AI into their core products.
