- 2+ years of experience directly managing engineering managers
- 5+ years of experience building and directly managing impactful engineering teams
- 10+ years of experience with design and development of enterprise software solutions
- Bachelor's degree in a computer related field or equivalent work experience
- Passionate about software development and building a strong engineering team
- Strong organizational skills with experience planning & executing complex software development
- Exposure to agile development methodologies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong ability to coach and mentor developers and solid experience recruiting and team building
- Experience working with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus
What the job involves

- Partner and collaborate with multi-functional stakeholders to prioritize, plan and deliver first-rate experiences for Workday customers
- Drive the activities of application development scrum teams delivering innovative features for customers in key markets outside the United States
- Co-ordinate the analysis, design, programming, debugging, and improvement of high-quality Workday product(s)
- Collaborate with Development, Product, Research/UX, Agility, Doc-writing, and Customer Support to identify, discuss and provide customer centric innovative product features and solutions
- Understand and promote industry-standard methodologies
- Coach and mentor team members to help them to be at their best, assisting with career growth and personal development
- Personify and promote the Workday values of Employees, Customer Service, Innovation, Integrity, Fun, and Profitability

Workday is a cloud-based software vendor that provides management of workforces and finances. The company uses a single database for workforce management and financial management to offer integration and optimize business intelligence across companies. It has added to the packages and tools it offers over the years, providing analytic options that allow companies to combine third-party data with information collected by Workday.
Workday has acquired and paired up with many other companies to keep expanding its offering. In 2021, it purchased the employee feedback platform Peakon in response to the growing need for managers to be able to survey workers and collect satisfaction data without face-to-face meetings. The company has also bought and developed many financial tools and HR management tools.
The company’s goal is to provide end-to-end back office services and while there are other providers, such as UKG Pro and Ceridian HCM, Workday’s broad offering helps them to stand out. Though it faced a tough global market in 2023 and has shed some of its headcount, Workday has seen a 6.5% gain in value in the first quarter of 2024. It is now focusing on growth and developing the AI capabilities of its platform. .
