Role
Who you are
- Strong background in developing and deploying Windows applications (eg. WinForms/WPF/UWP, MAUI)
- Proficiency with the Microsoft .NET stack (C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core, SQL Server) and willingness to work with various modern frameworks and tooling
- Firm grasp of multi-threading and efficient cross-process communication
- Working knowledge of interacting with the Windows API and COM objects
- Advocacy for OOP design principles and engineering best practices with a focus on code quality, CI/CD and scalability
- Strong debugging skills – methodically decomposing systems to identify bottlenecks, diagnosing issues, troubleshooting and implementing maintainable solutions
- Drive to continually develop your skills, improve team processes and reduce debt
- Fluency in English and ability to effectively communicate abstract ideas, complex concepts and technical trade-offs
Desirable
- Strong understanding of system architecture and efficient network communication and data transfer management using streaming, compression, etc
- Familiarity with working within a Startup/Scale-up environment – delivering value quickly and iteratively
- Active interest in AI, ML, RPA, automation, or related fields
What the job involves
- In this role, you will be responsible for improving and maintaining our Desktop application.
- This means developing new features related to capturing desktop events (clicks, keystrokes, and screenshots), working on solutions for our most pressing challenges, troubleshooting incidents and releasing improvements to existing functionalities
- Contributing to the development of a Windows desktop application that accurately and reliably records and stores sequences of desktop events, which is a pivot of Mimica's task mining & automation platform
- Conducting root cause analysis and debugging issues in client Windows environments
- Refactoring components to improve system quality – performance optimizations and network improvements
- Helping us build up our tools for observability and distributed tracing (using OpenTelemetry and Grafana)
- Keeping the Mimica platform up-to-date with the latest framework developments and devising innovative solutions in the Intelligent Automation space
- Documenting procedures and guides to facilitate knowledge sharing and helping other engineers to level up through pairing and mentoring
- Participating in hiring and onboarding new team members; taking on broader leadership responsibilities as we grow

Our take
To help accelerate automation, Mimica supports RPA teams which build software bots to complete repetitive tasks such as data entry, form completion, and claim and ticket processing. The company's software speeds up the process by automatically discovering opportunities for automation, and generating process maps for bots which can accelerate development.
Mimica's AI learns to perform tasks through observation, by recording users' clicks and keystrokes as they perform tasks, and automatically generating process maps and “blueprints” from them. The company faces a number of competitors such as FortressIQ, Skan, and UiPath, so will have to continue to improve in order to outpace these rivals.
That said, with Mimica operating in a market set to be worth over $100 billion by 2027, the opportunity for its products is vast and worth pursuing. The company has raised good funding to invest in building out both its team and offering, and already works with the likes of Dell, AT&T, Hexaware, Experis and Ironbridge.
