Who you are
- Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience in technical, enterprise software sales, product management, or related fields that includes Client-facing work
- Energy industry preferred, particularly in energy asset aggregation or utility programs
- Strong sense of curiosity and a mission to learn
- Incredible project management and organizational skills
- Comfort communicating cross-functionally and externally with clients
- Ability for periodic travel (~10%) for client visits, prospect demos, industry conferences
- Experience with platform integrations, APIs, data transfers preferred
- Experience or data fluency with SQL or Python, Cloud BI tools, and AI agents preferred
- Experience with enterprise-level process management tools preferred

What the job involves
- You’ll play a central role between Technical, Product, and Go-to-Market teams in support of EnergyHub’s growth and success
- For a mid-career professional dedicated to climate work, this role is a powerful opportunity to directly accelerate the clean energy transition. You will combine your technical and business expertise to architect solutions that convert distributed energy resources (DERs) into reliable virtual power plants, placing you at the forefront of the fight to stabilize the grid and reduce carbon emissions
- Sales Engineers at EnergyHub operate at the intersection of our client-facing, product and technical teams, enabling solutions that sit between market demands and product capabilities
- This Sales Engineering role will become an expert in the advancing world of distributed energy resources (DERs), combining technical and business acumen to design solutions involving the dynamic control of electric vehicle charging, smart thermostats, stationary batteries, and other connected devices to deliver value to utility clients
- You will also hone client-facing sales skills while serving as the liaison to your colleagues in product, business development, and program delivery -- ensuring the development of cross-functional knowledge and expertise
- Serve as a product expert within the Commercial team, understand the needs of EnergyHub’s growing base of utility clients and pair them with technical or service solutions
- Conduct discovery with prospective and existing clients on business requirements and key pain points
- Work closely with the Product team to design solutions that deliver compelling ROI
- Architect and deliver on opportunities for improving EnergyHub’s proposal, contracting, and delivery process with AI and automation tools
- Facilitate customer feedback so that EnergyHub’s Product team can inform the roadmap
- Work closely with EnergyHub’s product and marketing teams to ensure that EnergyHub is delivering the right message to the market
- Convey the value of EnergyHub’s platform, services, and program offerings to clients and prospects
Our take
Power grids are becoming increasingly complicated due to the increased usage of distributed energy resources (DER) in homes such as electric vehicles, home batteries, and thermostats. This complexity arises from the fragmented nature of DER providers and their lack of integration with management systems, making it difficult for renewable energy and other advanced grid services to operate reliably.
EnergyHub provides a DER management system that facilitates the management of DERs at scale, helping to provide the digital infrastructure for flexible electricity demand, voltage and frequency regulation and real-time analytics. It also provides end-to-end support for the acquisition, enrollment, and aggregation of customer-owned DERs.
Whilst the DER industry faces significant challenges in integrating into existing power grids, EnergyHub is providing the infrastructural and data flexibility required to future-proof the reliability of power networks. The company partners with major DER providers - Siemens, Nest and Tesla to name a few - and provides the technical support required for them to meet their long-term strategic goals and work towards a renewable future.
