Who you are
- 4+ years of experience delivering hands on consultative data analytics
- Strategic analytical skills with experience across a range of datasets, and via multiple systems
- Expert ability to interpret, present and derive strategic recommendations from data
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to translate complex analysis into well-structured and simple to understand presentations and recommendations
- Able to demonstrate capacity to efficiently organise priorities as well as being able to demonstrate effective project management and budgeting skills
- Experience in delivering targets and driving revenue to budget
- Communication skills, able to present complex information clearly and in an accessible way to a range of stakeholders, both verbally and in written reports
- An ability to prioritise workload, manage expectations, and take an organisational outlook, consistently focused on the organisation’s strategic objectives
- Ability to champion a data-driven approach to all audience communications, driving defined KPIs, and utilising testing while nurturing a learning team culture
- Ability to coach the team as well as train others in data literacy and interpretation
- Excellent working knowledge of GDPR, PECR and current understanding of best practice
What the job involves
- The Insight manager role sits within the global media business to help TimeOut create compelling sales stories , improving our ‘win’ ratio and repeat business
- The successful candidate will be passionate about driving revenue growth through the application of compelling, truthful, innovative and actionable insight
- Brining evidence and data, to win hearts and minds to ultimately drive revenue alongside TimeOut commercial teams
- This person will be commercially-focused, striving to improve our creative ideas both pre and post sale with the ability to interrogate a brief and work with the commercial team to create a compelling story to engage our partners
- The role is a key component to strengthen the storytelling of TimeOut to our partners across all of our key territories. A key role in all large pitches as well as creating insight led proactive ideas
- The ability to prioritise and communicate these priorities to key stakeholders across the business
- Strong analytical skills, working with data, interpreting performance, drawing conclusions, and summarising actionable recommendations for commercial teams
- Familiar with key platforms IPSOS, Comscore, Permutive, Dash Hudson, TGI & Google Analytics
- Creating insight based sales stories for the commercial team to take to market
- Working with global sales team to strengthen our sales story across creative partnerships and display
- Working with our DMP (Permutive), redefining and cleaning up core cohorts and crafting proactive cohorts
- Insights for post-campaign analysis for Display, Programmatic and CS
- Building out core segments for example Travel to air bnb bookers, first class ticket buyers, airline
- Ipsos & Comscore - competitor comparison, overlaps, indexing against verticals and categories, share compared to
- BEOP - Crafting surveys and pushing into Permutive to build out our story around how our users engage with specific verticals and brands
- TGI - response to briefs, indexing, heat maps
- Working with the CRM Director to create compelling 1st party data segments / story
- Commission and liaise with research agencies for brand uplift studies
- Create proactive presentations for the commercial team based on audience insight

Our take
Originally founded in 1968, the aim of Time Out was to provide reliable information about cultural happenings through the form of a magazine. It was intended to be an 'insider's guide' and included details about art, film, concerts, theatres and more.
Since then its diversified to include food and restaurants, and has straddled both the travel and hospitality sectors. And to keep up with the times, it has transitioned to digital advertising and social media.
Its also received new equity investment through a 2016 IPO, and made big strategic moves from this. Part of this move included stopping the print publication and instead placing a greater emphasis on its digital content. Time Out's current CEO, Chris Ohlund, has said he would be leading the company into its 'next phase of global growth' which has so far included the announcement of a global video collaboration program amongst its digital innovations.
