Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience as a BI Developer or Data Scientist
- Proven ability to act autonomously, take initiative and be innovative
- Strong knowledge of BI tools and software such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc. (strong preference for Quicksight)
- Expertise in database management and data modeling, with a strong command of SQL
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and best practices
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical terms
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members and stakeholders, including leading on requirements gatherings and report development
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Experience working cross-functionally to define analyses, objectives and deliver analytical results
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, prioritize multiple projects, and solve problems under tight deadlines and limited resources
- Excellent written, interpersonal communication and presentation skills, including ability to present complex technical concepts in a clear, concise manner to audiences with varying levels of technical understanding
- Remote Work Requirements:
- An established private work area that ensures information privacy
- A stable high-speed internet connection for remote work
- This role is remote, but you will be required to come to on-site meetings multiple times per year. This may be in the interview process, onboarding, and team meetings
What the job involves
- The Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer role will report to the Reporting and Analytics Manager and will work within the reporting team
- This role will be responsible for translating business needs into technical specifications and building BI solutions
- The role involves improving existing BI systems and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of data-driven solutions
- The BI Developer will work collaboratively and cross-functionally, including with an experienced team of in-house clinicians, engineers, customer success executives, and product
- Create and implement BI software and systems, including integration with databases and data warehousing
- Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to present complex data in an understandable and actionable format
- Build and maintain data models to ensure the accuracy and relevancy of the data
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Assume a leadership role in collaborating with teams of analysts and engineers to deliver high quality data-driven products and act as a mentor to junior colleagues
- Provide ongoing support and training to users on BI tools and data analytics
- Perform regular maintenance and updates to existing BI solutions to enhance functionality and incorporate new data sources or analytics capabilities
- Building and maintaining a single source of truth for metrics used across the organization
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of the data used for analysis
- Stay ahead of the latest trends and technologies in BI, data analytics, and data visualization to improve our BI capabilities continuously
