What the job involves
- You will be helping to build Cytora’s Underwriting Productivity Suite, a serverless based web application that increases the efficiency and effectiveness of underwriters thereby reducing expense ratios and delivering profitable growth to our customers
- Our team is multidisciplinary, composed of UX designers, Data Scientists, frontend/backend engineers, and product managers working together to build powerful solutions that allow our clients to integrate Cytora’s data and automation features into their insurance workflows
- Along with core technical skills, we are excited about colleagues who bring passion for the craft of inventing and building products from the ground up. This means providing feedback to product managers and the wider company, contributing to roadmaps, and bringing your creativity to bear by suggesting features and improvements based on your technical understanding of what is possible and needed. As the technical face of our product, we are looking for someone who is customer-centric, values-driven, and collaborative with great communication skills
- Design, develop and implement backend services and APIs using Python, Flask and FastAPI. Contribute to high level technical architecture discussions and take opportunities to mentor and coach less experienced colleagues

Our take
Insurance is vital to the economy, giving businesses the confidence to realise their ambitions in the face of uncertainty, but the underlying systems that insurance is built on are broken. Cytora is creating new foundations for insurance by providing insurers with the building blocks they need to deliver efficient, accurate underwriting and seamless customer experiences.
Cytora's platform enables risk submissions to be digitised, consistently evaluated using internal and external data sources and automatically processed for underwriting decision making. This means that risks can be digitally processed, maximising automation levels and delivering enhanced control over risk selection.
In 2022, Cytora partnered with global specialist insurer Beazley, which was followed by a series of milestones for the company, including partnerships with Moody's RMS, Chubb, and Ecclesiastical. Since launching version 3.0 of its platform, Cytora has been eyeing the US for its next expansion strategy.
