The mainstream social media landscape has changed drastically over the years, and recently people have been turning from the more popular sites to seek the features they value elsewhere. Post is building a social and news sharing platform, with a focus on providing premium news content and enabling intelligent conversation.
Post, which was founded in 2022, provides a platform similar to Twitter – users can share, republish, like and follow – but with the added functionality of hosting ad-free and non-subscription premium news. Publishers and independent writers can share articles behind a paywall, that users can then access with a single payment, providing an alternative to subscribing to certain publications.
Post has attracted significant attention with its vision, and secured impressive funding to develop the platform. It has recorded over 400,000 users since its beta launch that, interestingly, came just days after Elon Musk sealed his deal to acquire Twitter. With the ultimate result of this purchase causing many users to leave the more established site, it is quite possible Post will benefit from a boost to user numbers in the near future if it plays its cards right.
