Who you are
- Have great attention to detail and demonstrated investigation skills
- Are an excellent communicator, good at building and maintaining relationships
- Have previous experience in a Fraud/Compliance/Financial Crime environment (desirable but not essential)
- Have demonstrated prioritising and time management skills gained by being involved in projects with multiple stakeholders
- Are analytical and possess data management skills to choose and support your decisions
- Have good knowledge of mainstream financial products in a B2B environment
- Are highly organised and have a minimum of 1 year experience in a regulated/auditable position
- Degree educated in a relevant discipline such as Criminology, Legal, Finance, Business, Data, Analytics. Additional qualifications relevant to the role requirements desired, but not essential
What the job involves
- As Fraud Operations Specialist, you’ll be central in our efforts to investigate, uncover, and protect MarketInvoice from fraud
- Ensuring KYC processes and customer due diligence standards are met
- Verifying documents to identify attempted fraud from impersonations to application falsehoods
- Investigating and actioning CIFAS loadings, while being the point of contact for CIFAS members
- Monitoring active relationships for red flags that could suggest fraudulent activity
- Being a fraud guru and the first port of call for colleagues who need guidance
- Conducting Enhanced Due Diligence, ensuring regulatory and internal standards are met
- Conducting searches and investigations of relevant matters, ensuring the fair treatment of our customers
- Liaising with Law Enforcement Agencies to provide reports and assistance in line with our Data Protection Policies.
- Developing our fraud function with ideas on how to make it stronger
Our take
Smart financing has been one of the most important financial innovations over the last few years. Companies in this space look at cash flow/payment problems that companies or people face (for example delayed invoice payments hampering a company's cash flow) and try and come up with an intelligent financing solution while taking a cut on the way.
Kriya (previously called MarketFinance) was one of the first of the UK fintech lending companies. In 2019 they received strategic investment from Barclays and Santander, giving them substantial capital to grow and also enabling them to distribute the service to Barclays' large SME client base. Impressive further funding from Deutsche Bank has allowed them to consolidate this progress.
Having started out as a funder of invoices, the company has since moved into loans and in 2022 began to offer embedded finance solutions. Kriya has now appointed three new board members in order to further focus on B2B payments and embedded finance.
