Role
Who you are
- We are seeking a results-driven Recruiting Specialist to join our team! Our candidate is someone who knows how to identify and attract top sales and operational talent for a dynamic and fast-paced logistics company
- Must have 1+ year of full-cycle recruitment experience or freight sales experience
- Experience in a high-volume environment is required
- Proven ability to source a high volume of strong sales talent
- Proactivity and persistence are a must
- Demonstrated the ability to actively network and establish working relationships internally and externally
- Desire to seek new sourcing strategies with a passion for developing creative approaches to sourcing and delivering hiring results
- Strong communication, organizational, and negotiation skills. Ability to prioritize tasks in fast-paced environments
What the job involves
- You will be dedicated to our high-volume efforts in Chicago and offshore. You will own the full recruitment cycle, from sourcing to closing top talent, whilst ensuring a positive candidate experience through the first week of onboarding
- Source candidates and evaluate their experience, skills, goals, and competencies to ensure a healthy funnel, fill new hire classes, and ensure an exceptional candidate experience
- Work closely with hiring managers and teams to understand the requirements and expectations of the position(s)
- Develop out-of-the-box strategies for hiring and attracting top junior sales talent to Loadsmart
- Assist in the execution of recruitment events supporting the targeted needs of the organization (career fairs, on-site events, etc.)
- Meet established hiring KPIs and time-to-fill commitments
- Follow up with new hires, collect feedback, and ensure a remarkable employee experience
- Attend networking and industry events for headhunting
- Participate in HR Onboarding processes to ensure continuity from the hiring process
- Serve as an HR representative in the Chicago office as needed
Our take
Freight services involve many parties including shippers, dispatchers, drivers, and dock managers. Insurance and safety checks are required for everyone involved, a process that makes the truck shipping process more expensive, time-consuming, and less efficient than it could be.
Loadsmart provides an online portal that handles booking, insurance legislation, and health and safety regulations all within an integrated platform. This digital integration leads to parties receiving instant and guaranteed shipping, offering full financial coverage in the event of any discrepancies.
The company has raised significant amounts of funding, most recently in a 2022 Series D Round which saw the company achieving a valuation in excess of $1B. It has used this funding to expand its partnership network and to fuel its acquisitions strategy. In the longer term the company's focus on organic growth will stand it in good stead as it will allow it to avoid aggressive pricing structures which would make it difficult to achieve profitability given the razor-thin margins in the freight industry.
