Role
Who you are
- Kubernetes Mastery: Deep understanding of K8s internals, including API servers, namespaces, RBAC, and multi-tenancy
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency with Terraform, Helm, and working with cloud providers (AWS/EKS, Azure, GCP)
- Engineering Domain knowledge: Strong familiarity with DevContainer standards, CLI tool development, and local-to-cloud development workflows (DevPod)
- Open Source Roots: A history of contributing to or advocating for open-source projects (e.g., Knative, Tekton, or OpenStack)
- Communication: Ability to take a complex topic (like "Virtual Kubernetes Clusters") and make it understandable for both a C-level executive and a Junior DevOps engineer
- Self-Starter: Experience working in high-growth startup environments where you need to manage your own content calendar and laboratory environments
What the job involves
- Focus on engaging and training customers on how to get the most out of Crusoe Cloud
- Engage customers proactively and provide training on current features, new features, and upsell on features that they may not be using
- Work with customers to understand what they are interested in to help guide the product team with user feedback. Work with customers to understand what sold them on Crusoe so that we focus on those areas in Customer Experience to land new customers
- Content Creation: Produce high-quality technical content including blog posts (The New Stack, company blog), whitepapers, and technical guides focused on Kubernetes architecture
- Video & Demos: Script, record, and produce technical "How-To" videos, feature deep-dives, and webinar demos (e.g., vCluster Tips series)
- Community Advocacy: Represent the company at major industry events (KubeCon, FOSSY, etc.) as a speaker and subject matter expert
- Product Strategy: Act as a bridge between the community and the product team. Use your hands-on experience with the tool to provide feedback on UX, documentation, and feature roadmap
- Ecosystem Integration: Build and maintain reference architectures and "sandbox" examples on GitHub showing how our tools integrate with the wider CNCF landscape (ArgoCD, Rancher, EKS, KubeVirt)
- Sales Enablement: Create "Proof of Concept" (POC) guides and technical decks to help the sales team explain enterprise-grade features (e.g., vCluster Platform, Snapshot/Restore, Sleep Mode)
Our take
Crusoe is tackling one of the biggest challenges facing the digital age: the enormous energy demand of data centres and AI infrastructure. As AI models grow more powerful, they require immense computing power (and therefor electricity) to train and operate. This surge in energy use has put some pressure on power grids, driven up costs, and raised environmental concerns. Crusoe is on a mission to make this process more sustainable by finding smarter, cleaner, and more efficient ways to power the data centres that drive modern computing.
The company started out by putting wasted energy to work. Originally known as Crusoe Energy, it captured natural gas that would otherwise be burned off ("flared") at remote oil sites and used it to power modular data centres. Today, Crusoe has evolved into a major player in AI infrastructure, designing and operating large-scale data centres near renewable or stranded energy sources. It's now one of a handful of "neocloud" companies (next-generation cloud providers focused on flexible, efficient computing for AI workloads). And its facilities are helping tech giants like OpenAI handle the massive computing requirements of training advanced AI models.
Recently, Crusoe has attracted some huge investor attention, tripling its valuation to over $10B and raising $1.4B in its latest funding round. It's building OpenAI's first major US data centre campus and even experimenting with bold new frontiers. In partnership with Starcloud, Crusoe plans to deploy the world's first space-based cloud computing infrastructure, powered by solar energy and orbiting the Earth by 2027. If successful, this could redefine how and where computing happens, opening up a cleaner, virtually limitless source of energy for AI's next generation.
