Role
Who you are
- 2+ years of accounting experience; Big 4 public accounting is strongly preferred
- BA or BS degree in Accounting
- CPA track is strongly preferred
- Foundational understanding of U.S. GAAP; exposure to IFRS is preferred
- Experience supporting month-end close and preparing account reconciliations
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite experience a plus)
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Team-oriented with a willingness to learn and grow within the revenue accounting function

What the job involves
- The Staff Accountant, International role will assist the US-based Manager and the subsidiary accounting team based in Australia with accounting entries, US GAAP consolidation, month-end close (including reconciliations) and US GAAP to local GAAP adjustments
- This role will also assist with researching/understanding reporting requirements when the business is expanding into new international markets
- Reporting to the Manager, International Accounting, this role partners closely with FP&A, Tax, Consolidations, Global Revenue and Inventory Accounting, local accounting teams, and external advisors to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across all international operations
- The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to grow within a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Support the daily, weekly, and monthly US GAAP accounting tasks for the foreign acquisition, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Support the month-end close process, including reviewing account reconciliations, posting adjusting journal entries, consolidating into the Hims & Hers’ instance of NetSuite and completing assigned responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner
- Support team work products with attention to detail, identifying and correcting errors while working with the Manager, International Accounting to enhance processes that improve accuracy and efficiency
- Support the review of intercompany transactions and eliminations across subsidiaries
- Where required, assist the Australian-based account team with preparation of statutory financial statements and liaise with external auditors
- Support accounting documentation, policies, and internal controls
- Support assigned Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act of 2002 key controls and ensure performance with no deficiencies
- Support due diligence and integration for new market launches and expansions
- Support process improvements and system enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Develop strong cross-functional relationships with internal stakeholders and ensure timely, accurate delivery of requests and projects
- Serve as a key point of contact for relevant accounting matters, ensuring clear communication and issue escalation as needed
