Role
Who you are
- Candidates with previous experience working with vehicle leasing, or experience with direct selling of EV charging solutions will be strongly considered
- You must be able to thrive in a fast-paced sales environment, be creative, independent, focused and an excellent problem solver
- 7+ years of outside sales experience required. Experience in technology or cloud services a plus
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
- Territory based and extensive travel required
- A history of success in developing, driving, and closing business and achieving quota
- Outstanding interpersonal and presentation skills
- You need to be an energetic self-starter able to work independently to meet or exceed quota
- Capacity to interact and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- A proven ability to multi-task and handle complexity
- Teamwork oriented, and a willingness to work to the benefit of others
- Demonstrate ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver on commitments
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively articulate business plans for others to adapt and follow
- Possess strong negotiation skills
- Previous experience using Salesforce
What the job involves
- Reports To Director of Fleet Sales, North America
- In this outside sales role, you will be responsible for promoting ChargePoint hardware and software solutions to Fleet customers
- Your primary focus will be working with our Fleet Management Company (FMC) partners, and Fuel Card providers to grow market share with take-home fleet and depot charging needs
- Meet and exceed individual revenue quota
- Partner with new and existing FMCs to develop sales opportunities and support sales implementation
- Partner with Fuel Card Providers and support go to market strategy with ChargePoint technology
- Present ChargePoint Fleet Solutions to FMCs, customers, decision makers and prospects
- Provide training and support to fleet customers and drivers
- Qualify and develop new business opportunities from outbound/inbound calls, leads, general prospecting and email marketing. This includes cold calling and networking to develop one’s own pipeline
- Travel extensively within territory to develop and maintain relationships with key customer contacts, lead discovery calls, presentations, quarterly business reviews and deliver the ChargePoint value proposition
- Develop go to market strategy, including internal resource requirements, to effectively onboard new fleet programs
- Work alongside fleet clients to identify long-term electrification goals including depot site analysis, charging hardware, and software recommendations based on use case and vehicle application
- Accurately forecast revenue for territory and accounts, maintain contact information, business history and opportunity details
- Develop a strong technical baseline through training and development milestones

Electric vehicles are predicted to account for nearly 30% of new vehicle sales by 2025, which means the need for EV charging infrastructure is on the rise. ChargePoint supplies just such infrastructure, with hardware, software and mobile solutions for "every charging need".
Boasting the world’s largest EV charging network, the company also provides complimentary services for drivers, businesses and fleets. These include, for example, a mobile app for finding and paying for charging, and project management tools for making the switch to EVs.
Having already established a strong presence in the lucrative and expanding EV charging market, ChargePoint is well-poised to assist in the electric mobility revolution. It serves a range of clients across North America and Europe, including Wells Fargo whom it partnered with to create financing solutions for EV infrastructure. 2023 saw funds secured that will support its goal of reaching profitability in the near future.
