Role
Who you are
- Your excellent communication skills and your fluency in English, French and Spanish will be vital in raising the bar on Ukio’s service standards
- Professional fluency in French and Spanish (both spoken and written). Any additional language will be a plus
- Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or a similar guest-facing role
- Strong communication, problem-solving skills, professionalism, attention to detail and unwavering dedication to customer satisfaction
- Familiarity in using computer software for booking, communication, ticket management and record-keeping. Knowledge on Zendesk and Hubspot usage will be a plus
- Typically Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM, but available to work Monday to Sunday on rotating shifts, 4 PM to 1 AM
- Comfortable performing in a start-up environment
What the job involves
- We are looking for a Guest Experience Specialist to join our Ukio team in Barcelona
- You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our guests have a seamless and memorable stay in our apartments
- You will be the voice of our company, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, addressing guest inquiries and concerns, and enhancing the overall guest experience
- Join our team as a Guest Experience Specialist and be an integral part of creating exceptional stays for our guests in our extensive apartment portfolio across Europe
- Your dedication to ensuring guest satisfaction will be rewarded with a fulfilling and exciting career in this nascent industry
- Manage complex guest requests and organize visits, replacements, and repairs
- Act as a liaison between customers and internal departments (technical support, product development, sales)
- Communicate customer feedback and issues to relevant departments for product and service improvements
- Maintain professional and approachable communication via phone, email, and WhatsApp chat
- Provide updates to guests on the status of their requests
- Display empathy towards guests
- Escalate unresolved cases
- Explain complex technical issues to non-technical customers
Our take
Renting an apartment abroad can be a complicated and expensive process. Ukio solves this problem by making it easier to lease an apartment in prime city locations.
Ukio was founded by two veterans of Knotel and Airbnb, and the company functions in a similar way to the latter. However, it differentiates itself from Airbnb and other rental sites by focusing on the mid-length leases and fashionable locations typically favoured by professional remote workers. The company has benefited from the increasing number of people looking for flexible short term rentals especially in major international hubs.
Having already expanded into Germany and Portugal, it is using recent investments to enter the French and Italian markets, with longer term goals to establish a presence in the UK and Ireland. It is also building a B2B solution for international businesses to allow them to offer accomodation to their remote employees.
