- 10+ years of experience in design, with a proven track record in UX/UI, product design, and UX research, including at least 5 years in a leadership role
- A strong portfolio showcasing expertise in designing and leading the creation of innovative, user-centric experiences across digital products and brand touchpoints
- Deep understanding of design principles, UX/UI best practices, and product development processes
- Experience working in cross-functional teams, collaborating with engineers, product managers, data scientists, marketers, and more to deliver exceptional design solutions
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with a history of building and mentoring high-performing design teams
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and decisions to both designers and non-designers
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools
- Experience with conducting and interpreting user research, A/B testing, and data-driven decision-making.A passion for innovation, design trends, and emerging technologies
What the job involves
- As the Head of Design, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual and user experience of our products, driving our creative strategy, and elevating our design culture
- Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, you will be responsible for shaping the creative vision and strategy across all design functions, including product design, user research, user experience, user interface, and more
- You will lead and inspire a multidisciplinary design team, collaborating with leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and cohesive design solutions that drive business success
- You will be responsible for guiding a talented team of designers, fostering a culture of creativity, and aligning design efforts with business goals
- Design Leadership: Set and communicate a clear design vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall goals and values. Inspire, mentor, and grow a world-class design team
- User-Centric Design: Champion a user-first approach across all design disciplines (UX/UI, product design, branding), ensuring a seamless and intuitive experience for customers
- Collaboration: Partner closely with product management, engineering, marketing, and other teams to drive cohesive design solutions that balance user needs with business objectives
- Design Process & Innovation: Establish and optimize design processes, workflows, and best practices to ensure efficiency, collaboration, and high-quality outcomes. Encourage innovation and experimentation within the design team
- Team Development: Recruit, develop, and retain top design talent. Foster a culture of feedback, growth, and collaboration within the team
- Data-Driven Design: Leverage user research, data, and analytics to inform and iterate on design decisions, ensuring a balance between creativity and performance
- Design Advocacy: Advocate for design excellence throughout the organization, communicating the value of design to non-design stakeholders and fostering a design-driven culture
Our take
Call centres have been a mainstay of sales teams for decades, with the human touch delivering an impression conversion rate of about 30% for inbound calls. However analogue call centres are physical infrastructure-heavy and unable to take advantage of the flexibility afforded by remote and hybrid ways of work. Aircall exists to change that, providing a cloud-based call centre infrastructure that allows sales teams to work from their home offices.
Aircall isn't the only company in this space, and it faces heavy competition from Cloudtalk, another cloud-based call centre solution. However Aircall stands out in the market by its use of open APIs and webhooks, making integration with existing productivity and helpdesk tools much easier, and its superior call quality. Aircall has developed a significant customer base with these strengths, with over 15,000 companies using its platform.
The company has raised significant funding in recent years, highlighting the confidence investors have in their offering. With a rapidly expanding presence in the US, European, UK and Australian markets and recent refresher leadership hires, Aircall could soon be a widely recognised international player in the telephone software industry.
