Role
Who you are
- 3+ years of backend engineering experience in Go (preferred), Java, or C++
- Strong expertise building and operating large-scale backend systems
- Experience developing enterprise-grade software with strict correctness and reliability requirements
- Proven experience designing and integrating REST, gRPC, or WebSocket APIs
- Strong understanding of performance optimization, concurrency, and distributed system design
Desirable
- Experience with institutional crypto trading systems or digital asset infrastructure
- Background in trading, risk, or investment management software
- Exposure to multiple asset classes or multi-strategy trading environments
- Experience integrating with third-party financial systems or custodial platforms
What the job involves
- Talos is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Tokenization team, focused on backend systems integration and enterprise-grade platform development
- This role centers on building and maintaining high-performance backend services that power tokenized asset workflows and institutional trading infrastructure
- You will work on integrating internal systems with external counterparties, designing robust APIs, and ensuring performance, scalability, and security across distributed services
- This is a backend engineering role requiring strong systems thinking, production ownership, and experience operating in complex financial environments
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services supporting tokenization and related trading workflows
- Build and optimize high-performance, scalable, and secure distributed systems
- Design and implement REST, gRPC, and WebSocket APIs for internal and external integrations
- Lead integration efforts with third-party platforms, custodians, and trading venues
- Contribute to system architecture decisions to support enterprise-grade reliability and scalability
- Participate in the full development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production monitoring
Our take
So far, the increasing institutional interest in the value of crypto-assets has been stymied by a lack of scaled, efficient, and secure infrastructure that these institutions could use for trade. Talos addresses the problem of digital asset trading between institutions, helping them to securely sidestep these obstacles into a fresh market with potentially huge returns.
The company provides a range of end-to-end, highly configurable tools to populate and facilitate the institutional crypto-asset market from just one platform. Talos' approach is helping to lower the bar for wide-ranging adoption of cryptocurrency, supporting the full lifespan of digital assets trading. That said, because the company is developing an entirely new asset class market, progress is accelerated, and competition may have a chance to overtake.
Promising for Talos was the interest of prominent investors, including PayPal and Fidelity, during their Series A and B funding rounds. The funds were used to create an institutional-grade service that would help shape and spearhead this developing market. More recently, the company has formed several significant partnerships, including with BlackRock, and acquired D3X Systems, the integration of which will enable its clients to design, validate, implement, and manage highly customised portfolios.
