Role
Who you are
- You've held a remote technical B2B sales position before, and attained quota
- Ideally you have Security Software sales experience. You must have technology sales experience
- Comfortable communicating with others verbally and in writing. You're a doer, not a dreamer and are very results oriented. You'll respond quickly to inbound sales and will have the discipline to maintain outbound contact volumes (50 touches per day)
- You don't thrive in a high-pressure, unreasonable quota environment, and at the same time you know that the outcomes of the position must be tracked and measured. You want to take care of the users, help them make the right choice (which some times will be not to buy). You want the freedom to do good work, done well, for the right reasons
- You are organized, like to be on top of your responsibilities and don't let things slip through the cracks. You will be sure to include a quote from your favourite movie as part of your application
- Competitive - not just against your business rivals but also against yourself. You are in control of your success
- Collaborative - there's a time to be an individual and focus on your own work, but we are a team and the more you give the more you get
- Consistent - you'll hear "No" more than "Yes", can you handle that and put in the effort even on the hard days?
- Ambitious you don't have to know what the rest of your life plan is but you aren't thinking small
- Coachable - you're smart (we like that) but there is always room for improvement. Can you take feedback and put it to use? Can you offer constructive feedback to your team so we all grow?
- Self-directed – We are fully remote and distributed, which requires our team to be extremely focused and self-managing. We won't micro-manage, but we do set a high bar on output. You will have to maintain normal office hours for the USA (east/west coast hours)
What the job involves
- The Sales team at Security Roots are responsible for providing all inbound leads with enough relevant information so they can make an informed decision on whether Dradis is the right tool for the problem(s) they are trying to solve. They are also the ones that discover additional leads through outbound efforts to ensure a continued stream of sign ups
- In this role, you will learn a ton and be part of a small, global, and user-centered company. You'll have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of 1,000s of ethical hackers. Plus, as a small team, you will have a lot of choices about what to work on, and there are still a lot of untapped opportunities for you to grow as the company does
- Understand your target market, our unique value, and how to communicate that to prospective users
- Help every person that reaches out to us through any channel to figure out if Dradis is a good fit
- Live in HubSpot and implement prospecting strategies
- Qualify those leads and help them progress through the buy/sell process using email, chat, demos, and calls
- Meet monthly and quarterly qualified leads and revenue objectives
- You'll become an expert in how IT Security (i.e. ethical hacking) teams work and how our product can help them (btw, if you know where the "Dradis" name comes from, this *may* just be the perfect job for you!)
Our take
It’s generally accepted that security admin is a time consuming but necessary task for all businesses. The ramifications of not having strict security protocols or reporting in place can be detrimental for companies if unlucky. Security Roots is an information platform looking to automate and simplify age-old manual security workflow, with its flagship product, Dradis Pro.
The aim of the company is to encourage less time on the administrative side of the security reporting processes and more on the reporting itself. The all-in-one platform allows teams and individual users to process all security management from one dashboard. The company also boasts the ease of integration with much used security softwares like Okta.
The company's impressive client roster includes the likes of Vodafone, Investec and more. Security Roots expresses its pride in the fact it is self-funded and 100% user focused, which might help explain why the significant loyalty of its client base. It’ll be interesting to see how the company continues to scale with its self-reliant ethos and growing product range.
