What the job involves

Electric Sheep is accelerating Visual Effects (VFX) in the film and TV industry with AI. The Visual Effects industry is responsible for everything you see on screen that wasn’t captured through the lens of a camera, such as King Kong, spaceships or meteors crashing into Earth
We are automating the process of rotoscoping - rotoscoping is the industry term for background removal and is a crucial first step for nearly all visual effects. At the moment VFX studios are manually rotoscoping by drawing around foreground objects frame by frame. This process is incredibly time consuming - three seconds of footage takes around five days to rotoscope. We’re automating this process, rotoing the same three seconds of footage in five minutes
Helping to build out our ML pipeline, lots of greenfield development working directly alongside our head of AI, building and training models to match the highest level of production quality for Hollywood

Our take

Drawing from the camera-to-post experience used by major industry players like Netflix, Amazon, and Disney, among others, Electric Sheep identified an opportunity to confront the common challenges faced in the Visual Effects (VFX) realm through the power of emerging AI technology.

Driven by its commitment to propel the Visual Effects industry forward, Electric Sheep prioritises speed, security, and scalability, with the ultimate goal of streamlining Film/TV workflows. As the company sets out on its journey, its initial focus revolves around the process of rotoscoping - an animation technique where animators trace over motion picture footage, frame by frame, to create lifelike action sequences.

Though it is a relatively new player in the market, Electric Sheep embraces this position with ambition. Fueling its aspiration is its dedication to advancing the field and envisioning a future where its innovative technologies redefine the landscape of Film/TV workflows.
