Company mission

Figma's mission is to help teams create, share, test, and ship better designs from start to finish.

Role

Who you are

  • 6+ years of experience hiring and leading teams as an engineering manager with at least 2 years of experience managing managers
  • Previous experience in driving the development and optimization of AI capabilities within a product, preferably within a fast-paced and high-growth environment
  • Excitement and curiosity for 0->1 product development, with a track record of crafting fast moving organizations that can turn innovative ideas into successful productionalized features

Desirable

  • Knowledge and experience in generative AI, RAG, the fine-tuning process and its application to creative products
  • Experience digging into product analytics and data yourself to help create new opportunities or investment areas for your team

What the job involves

  • We're seeking a dynamic Senior Manager to lead multiple teams on our early-stage journey of providing Figma’s users with personalized, streamline and intuitive solutions
  • As Figma’s customer base continues to expand and diversify, and new technological advancements in AI and generative design emerge, the opportunity for AI experience engineering is greater than ever
  • You’ll collaborate closely with a cutting edge AI Research team and your work will help raise the ceiling of what’s possible for designers and lower the floor of who can design
  • We are seeking an accomplished and experienced leader who has built scrappy fast paced teams, ideally working on generative AI products, to join our team and lead our AI efforts from inception to implementation
  • Join us in molding the future of AI at Figma!
  • Lead and support a diverse team of managers and engineers responsible for developing and improving Figma's AI capabilities in our core products
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, AI research and data science teams to define strategic goals and establish a roadmap for AI product development
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain high-performing engineers. You'll contribute to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and calculated risk-taking
  • Drive innovation in 0->1 product areas, exploring and implementing new AI technologies and techniques to enhance user experience
  • Figma is committed to building an inclusive and diverse team and culture. We expect all of our leaders to play a role in helping to build and drive these initiatives through hiring, community events, and other programs in partnership with teams across all of Figma

Our take

Figma is a web-based design platform that helps cross-functional teams of designers, project managers, and developers easily collaborate on product design projects. Its standout feature, Multiplayer mode, is like Google Docs for design, letting team members collaborate in real-time on project files that are hosted in the cloud.

Founded in 2012, Figma quickly established itself among its competitors in the sector and achieved a valuation exceeding $10 billion in 2021, boosted by a trend towards remote work. Its acquistion by Adobe for twice that amount just a year later raised eyebrows, but is a testament to the huge potential of this company and its product.

Thousands of industry-leading companies such as AirBnB, Dropbox, GitHub and Microsoft use Figma to scale their design efforts easily across distributed teams. Adobe has committed to leaving Figma autonomous going forward, and Figma will benefit from Adobe's digital imaging and AI tech in its product development.
