Who you are
- The BI & Analytics Team is unlocking the vast amount and huge potential of Shutterstock data to generate actionable insight to empower data-driven decisions, and we’re looking for a strategic leader who can combine business acumen, technical and analytical skills with top-notch relationship management skills to meet and deliver on business intelligence needs across the organization
- A successful candidate in this role will challenge traditional thinking and comes with an operational and sales analytics background and is grounded in data strategy and execution
- 10+ years of relevant work experience managing teams and successfully delivering data, analytic and reporting solutions in Operational Analytics, Sales Analytics, Customer Analytics, Business Intelligence, or strategy/management consulting
- Proven experience in organizing and optimization of complex operational processes through data development and analytics efforts
- Strong analytical background with business acumen, and heavy experience in business and analytical consulting specific to business operations
- Strong background in data development in support of business outcomes
- Deep knowledge of cloud database solutions (e.g. Snowflake), visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker, etc), customer data management and structure, best practices data modeling and management and data QA, etc
- Knowledge of Salesforce and other related operational data management systems a plus
- Basic competency with SQL skills for data analysis; Competency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, Powerpoint/Google Slides, etc
- Experience working in an e-commerce capacity or consumer-facing websites or global technology company a plus
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with ability to present and clearly explain insights based on data to non-technical executive audiences
What the job involves
- As Director, Sales / Ops Analytics & Data Ops Lead, you will work closely with our sales team, content & sales operations teams, and data teams to optimize core operations, sales revenue and to help organize and execute against data strategy that spans the entire business
- Reporting to the VP, Data & Analytics, you will lead a passionate team of business analysts in data-driven efforts and initiatives focused on operational efficiency, optimization of sales revenue and execution of strategic data efforts
- You will also be responsible for developing internal BI capabilities and democratizing data across the organization. You will report on key business measures, deliver insights, develop compelling data visualizations, data mine, and tell our story to current and prospective business partners
- Sales Revenue and Operational Analytics, Reporting and Optimization:
- Sales Analytics BI team lead supporting key stakeholders across the sales organization in optimization of sales revenue and sales operations and planning
- Own and manage sales data, reporting and analytics for sales team revenue optimization and sales operations optimization
- Content Operations Analytics and Reporting:
- Operational Analytics BI team lead supporting key stakeholders across the organization to provide insightful analytics that impact business metrics and outcomes as it relates to our large and growing content operations team
- Own and manage all aspects of data development, metrics development, reporting, planning, analytics and insights in support of content operations
- Data Strategy and Operations Lead:
- Data strategy BI team lead organizing, managing and executing the strategic data vision for the entire organization across our sales, ecommerce and related brand businesses
- Own and manage the execution of data strategy including defining the data curation and modeling vision from a business lens, overseeing the execution of corporate-wide data consolidation and aggregation efforts, and assisting in the build of efficient and effective data management and reporting systems
- Bring to the table strategic data vision and best practices in driving scalable end-to-end data systems with a strong business lens
- Bring to the table strategic thought leadership, industry-leading perspective and best practices to advise the complex content and sales operations teams
- Define, develop and socialize automated, universal KPIs and dashboards to track performance and success of efforts linked to business outcomes
- Participate in business strategy discussions, determine how KPIs impact operational and financial performance of the business, work with business unit leaders to strategize & forecast accordingly
- Tell compelling stories that are anchored in improving and optimizing customer experience and engagement across all touch points; turn the complex data-driven insights you generate into simple communication through storytelling
- Evangelize use of data and analytics in everything we do and work with partners to integrate analytical learnings and intelligence into business decisions; develop a partnership with business stakeholders to ensure we are meeting existing analytic needs by asking the right questions in order to deliver an actionable solution
- Strategically define and continuously improve our data collection and visualization stack
- Work very closely with Data Governance team to drive our initiatives towards a streamlined data environment for effective analysis
