Who you are
- If you are a sales professional with in-depth knowledge of customer engagement and acquisition, and you’re interested in mentoring a team and supporting your leaders, we would love to hear from you!
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in support, sales, and/or business development (B2C and/or B2B)
- Fluency in English and German - additional languages are a plus
- Proficient in CRM solutions and sales pipeline management
- Skilled in analyzing quantitative and qualitative data
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proactive, hands-on approach with strong commercial acumen
- Excellent writing, phone, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Strong communication abilities
- Interest in photography and videography is desirable
What the job involves
- As part of the Seller Experience team, you’ll be responsible for converting both new and existing customers through effective communication
- Reporting to the Account Management Lead, your mission will be to drive sales and deliver an outstanding experience to our sellers
- Support customer inquiries to boost conversions and maximize value
- Engage new business opportunities to expand inventory
- Build and nurture customer relationships with strong negotiation and business development skills
- Manage key accounts, delivering high standards of service
- Utilize CRM and manage sales pipelines effectively
- Collaborate with Pricing and Marketing to ensure competitive offers and aligned brand messaging
- Work across departments to meet customer expectations throughout their journey
- Meet targets and report performance on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
- Track customer support and sales KPIs as well as gather and analyze customer feedback to identify trends and needs
- Analyze the competitive landscape to support business strategy
- Mentor and coach best sales practices as a team role model
- Assist leadership with tasks and projects as needed
- Potentially manage a team, as required
Our take
Brighton-based MPB’s used camera and photo equipment marketplace has been going through a period of rapid growth of late, reflecting the European used goods marketplace as a whole.
The company joins the likes of Wallapop (Spain) and Vestiaire Collective (France) in a coterie of second-hand buy & sell platforms that have risen in popularity, and received major funding as a result. While used goods platforms have always been very popular online, MPB and its ilk’s niche market approach is paying off. The public conscience surrounding sustainability and circular economies no doubt plays a role in this.
However, the main factor behind the company's sharp growth may be the rise of online content creators, which has created a greater demand than ever for quality film and photo equipment. With no sign of demand slowing for MPB’s platform, the company is aiming to ramp up operations across its locations in Brighton, Berlin, and Brooklyn, and possibly expand further afield.
