Who you are
- You have a successful track record of solving complex problems, which require the input of multiple, cross-functional stakeholders
- Experience in a regulated environment, with an understanding of regulatory requirements and duties in regards to Banking, Payments, and Credit Cards
- You can create structure in an uncertain environment - plan without having all the details, prioritise and actively manage risks, and deliver working increments
- You have proven you can effectively communicate with various experts and bridge communication gaps across domains (sales, tech, compliance etc) and geographies
- You learn very quickly and have a self-starter mentality to pick up new subjects
- You have a pro-active, get things done attitude under-pressure; but also, you are able to balance urgent short-term and important long-term results, while dealing with numerous initiatives
- 5+ years of Product Management experience, preferably within a regulated environment with a focus on delivering innovative, compliant products
- Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements surrounding Payments, Banking and/or Accounts that may influence your product definition and solution
- Have worked in truly agile delivery environments and deeply understand agile product management practices (product discovery, roadmapping, data analysis, etc)
- Have understanding of modern technologies and development practices; have a good track record leading delivery quads and fostering relationships with engineering teams
- Have experience with localisation of global products
- Have lead a Go-To-Market product delivery
What the job involves
- The Compliance Product Manager role at Railsr is to deliver against our vision for our Compliance Products, enabling Railsr and our Customers to grow their business safely through our embedded services
- The Products in this domain covers all the UK and EEA and are both sold as direct solutions to business and utilised for the compliance of our internal products
- With a dedicated team of engineers, the Product Manager will develop product roadmaps, requirements and changes, ensuring Ralisr offers “compliance as a service products” of the highest quality. Experience working with; Anti Financial Crime, KYC (Know Your Customer), Enhanced Diligence and/or payment screening within a Bank or Payments company is essential for this role
- You will work closely with our Head of Product to form the Ralisr the Product Strategy and you will define a Product Roadmap to deliver against our strategy and goals. Working closely with our Chief Risk Officer you will ensure alignment with our key regulatory frameworks (the FCA and European regulatory requirements you will be responsible for shaping our regulatory product
- Define a 3 year horizon of product objectives, tactics and deliverables, supporting Railsr achieve its corporate strategy
- Owning a delivery agenda, planning delivery and and change
- Backlog management, ensuring development is maximised to our OKR / Goals
- Subject matter expertise and requirement regiment
- Own key supplier relations, oversee our joint operational performance, ensuring Railsr and our customer are receiving the services from key suppliers

As the digital economy has grown, so too has the market for 'Banking-as-a-Service' - the process of ensuring the overall execution of financial services over the web. As businesses expand online, they have opportunities to be able to build and sell various financial services or add fintech features to their existing products. Railsr (formerly Railsbank) facilitates companies doing this easily, where it would previously have been a huge undertaking.
Essentially, Railsr is making financial services more inclusive. Previously, the complexities of legacy technology, managing global compliance and ancient bank processes have created a slow, complex and costly experience for customers. Now, through Railsr's Open Banking Platform and APIs, financial innovators have the means of creating the financial services, products and experiences their clients want.
In 2022, shortly after becoming Railsr, the company benefitted from the embedded finance boom and raised a large funding round to support its ongoing expansion efforts. Early in 2023, however, the company had to undertake an emergency sale and shift of control - though it seems to have remained positive throughout, citing the sale as a "pivotal moment" that will enable it to "rebuild momentum, drive change and return Railsr to growth."
