Our take

Initially starting as a 2-person blood banking software management scheme in 1980, WellSky grew into a global medication management company in the mid-90s, before becoming a private healthcare software company in the noughties and remaining a healthcare tech innovator to this day.

Nowadays, roughly 75% of US blood supplies are tested through WellSky clients, and 121,000 in-patient admissions for behavioral health, rehab, and long-term acute care are processed through the company each year. Wellsky's staying power has largely depended on its ability to remain at the front of relevant tech innovations, which has seen it secure multiple successful funding rounds and numerous high-profile partnerships.

WellSky continues its legacy of medical partnerships to this day and has integrated seamlessly into the complex private healthcare ecosystem of the US. Recent moves include the acquisition of Experience Care, that offers a suite of software solutions for post-acute and long-term care providers; and a strategic partnership with Element5, a workflow automation solution company for post-acute care.
