Role
Who you are
- You are a staff software engineer (6+ years coding professionally) with a passion for making software so intuitive that it has almost no learning curve and so usable that it quickly becomes muscle memory
- You reject the notion that backend work is real software development or that frontend work is easier
- You have become proficient in multiple CX browser libraries and patterns
- You work productively in React, but you are not dogmatic
- You realize React is like any other framework. It has pros and cons and should be used when it makes sense
- You have at some point become so frustrated with the limitations of frameworks that you have written parts of your own
- You are driven by seeing your software used; by providing value that your customers can’t live without
- You know that your understanding of customer needs always leads to a more valuable result
- You are a technical leader
- You make the engineers around you better by providing timely feedback, guiding others, and having a clear decision making framework
- You take pride in the accomplishments of your teammates and love seeing them grow as much as you love spending time in the coding pocket (those times when you’re focused, see a clear solution to a thorny problem, and are just cranking out elegant code)
- You don’t believe in staying in your lane
- When you see a critical problem you either solve it or you call attention to it
- You capably set direction when confronted with ambiguity
- You are curious about damn near everything. Time not spent learning something new feels like wasted time
What the job involves
- Real breakthroughs in technology happen when the customer experience evolves, not when the backend capability is written. Otherwise we’d all still be using a stylus to write Graffiti letters on our phones (Google “Palm OS Graffiti” if you’re not into tech history) and searching the Internet with RegEx (we hope you don’t have to Google that one). As for easy?
- Graphics-based operations systems weren’t easy to write. Swype typing wasn’t either. Or to be more with the times, augmented reality. Backend shmackend
- Create and manage Typescript components and libraries
- Build software that provides a superior customer experience for data analysts, marketing professionals, and business leaders
- Choose and extend CX browser frameworks, libraries, and patterns that will be used throughout the engineering organization
- Mentor other engineers and give them technical direction

One of the major challenges for companies these days is to effectively activate the data they gather. Thus, a solution like GrowthLoop’s has the potential to turn data warehouses into growth engines without having to use external Customer Data Platforms.
The company, which until 2022 was built without any capital investment, has an impressive client list which includes Google Cloud, Indeed, NASCAR and the Boston Red Sox. Funds raised in 2022 allowed GrowthLoop to expand its services and invest in new features for the platform - such as a first-of-its-kind AI audience builder, a GenAI Marketing solution in partnership with Google Cloud and Typeface and a cross-channel journey builder for the data cloud.
