Role
Who you are
- B.A./B.S. in related field or equivalent work experience
- At least five (5) years of experience in product management or an equivalent role
- At least two (2) years of developer experience
- Experience building and launching REST and GraphQL APIs and advocating for their uses
- Detailed technical understanding of how APIs and cloud services work, and overall SDLC
- Scrupulous about value for the business; ability to understand and focus on what’s most likely to bring ROI
- Experience with Agile/Scrum Software Development along with project management tools (Trello, Jira, Rally or equivalent) in a technical software development environment
- Experience prioritizing product backlogs and working closely with software engineers to write and refine stories for sprint execution
- Be a subject matter expert in the cloud IT space with understanding of internal and external customers’ needs
- In-depth knowledge of software delivery process, analytics best practice and tools, and website design principles
- Exceptional project management and interpersonal skills with experience managing multiple work streams across a variety of stakeholders
- Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills with meticulous attention to detail. Excellent documentation/communication skills
- Experience managing competing resources and priorities
- Is a self-starter and able work independently with a bias toward action, does not let perfect be the enemy of good
- Proven ability to collaborate and problem-solve with diverse people in different parts of the organization
- Comfortable with ambiguity and can adapt to rapidly changing situations. Capable of taking a high-level vision and taking down to actionable components
- Data-driven by nature with the ability to make decisions where there is none
- Track record of defining and delivering groups of enhancements that drive outcomes
- Keen design sense and strong empathy with our customers and vendors
What the job involves
- The Senior Product Manager – Platform develops the vision and strategy for enabling internal and external developers to use Pax8 APIs. They also support and build the developer community. The Sr. Product Manager works closely with other Product Managers, Engineers, UX designers, and business stakeholders, and helps develop and own a roadmap that delivers value for both customers and the business
- They use techniques such as design thinking, user testing, and experimentation to generate insights to deeply understand our business and customers to prioritize enhancements that will have the greatest impact. The Sr. Product Manager creates complex product artifacts and iterates on product processes. They lend a hand with helping more junior team members learn new skills
- Own and drive strategy for the API Enablement product area including enabling internal and external developers to create and integrate with Pax8 APIs, developing governance processes, building community, and supporting developers
- Apply design and product thinking to the API developer experience and functionality
- Collaborate deeply with business stakeholders across the org to plan the right product improvements at the right time to meet a demonstrated market or business need
- Communicate product strategy; collaborate with Design, Product, and Engineering to help them deeply understand the strategy so they can effectively execute to maximize our growth, speed-to-market, and value
- Distill vision and strategy into an actionable, focused roadmap that bolts into business OKRs; Socialize and advocate for the roadmap both internally and with the developer community
- Prioritize work streams and guide execution to maximize our growth, speed-to-market, and value; Ideate, user test, write clear stories, refine, solve problems, perform UAT, understand your product through data, and iterate
- Lead agile ceremonies in collaboration with Engineering teams to ensure shared understanding of problems and solutions
- Guide trade-off decisions to maximize value
- Track progress against OKRs and understand product performance at a feature level
- Make data-driven product decisions using a/b testing, metric optimization, and funnel analysis
- Work closely with UX to generate insights from qual and quant data about users and features
- Seek opportunities to provide support and advice to less experienced members of the team

Cloud computing facilitates access to software products without having the computer power required to use them, presenting great opportunities for enterprises to benefit from cutting-edge software. However, managing subscriptions to cloud products can be a convoluted process unique to each software product, presenting the need for a unified accessibility solution.
Pax8 provides an online marketplace for cloud-based software, allowing businesses to order, bill, manage, and provision cloud products within a single place. The marketplace contains a curated catalogue of cloud providers, a license management dashboard, demo infrastructure and tools for billing and invoicing, ultimately ensuring that users do not need to navigate outside the platform to manage their cloud software inventory.
Whilst many of the services provided by Pax8 are already included in cloud software applications, the company has made the smart move of partnering with software providers such as Bam Boom Cloud to unify all management tools into a single platform. By ensuring companies can browse, purchase, and manage cloud solutions within the marketplace, the company aims to increase accessibility and minimise complexities associated with cloud computing.
