Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred
- 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting experience preferred but not required
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements
- Proficiency in NetSuite preferred but not required
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in our San Francisco office 2+ days per week
What the job involves
- As a Senior Accountant at Nirvana, you will play a pivotal role in managing our financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting standards
- You will work closely with the finance team to maintain accurate financial records, prepare financial reports, and provide insights to support strategic decision-making
- This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our organization while expanding your accounting expertise
- Prepare required schedules to manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting (e.g. Revenue, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Prepaids, Cash)
- Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Oversee and assist in managing the tax function with our external tax consultants
- Assist in the maintenance of all accounting and finance software (Netsuite, Brex, BILL, Navan, etc. ) and other financial systems to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Provide audit readiness support as the company prepares for its first external audit
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
