Who you are

5+ years designing and shipping consumer products across web and native mobile, including iOS and Android

The instinct to make decisions without waiting to be asked and to think on your feet under pressure
Experience leading complex product work in close partnership with product, engineering, and design leadership
Experience shaping ambiguous, strategic problem spaces and driving clarity through design
A track record of influencing cross-functional teams and product direction through clear storytelling
The ability to move fluidly between big-picture thinking and interaction-level craft
Experience designing AI products, or a clear point of view on how to

What the job involves

The Wonder AI team works at the forefront of food and AI. We're building two new consumer products. Wonder Create lets anyone launch a restaurant from a prompt, produced in Wonder's robotic kitchens and sold on Wonder and Grubhub. The second is an unannounced AI product that plans and manages what people eat every day
Both are 0 to 1, and both are built for creators, home cooks, and families. The job is to make frontier AI feel obvious, and to make it beautiful
You'll report to the VP of Design for the Wonder AI team and work directly with them on both products
Own end-to-end design across web, iOS, and Android, from first sketch through production
Create and manage the design systems for both products
Design the complex journeys that have no reference yet, from prompt to restaurant to an agent that decides what someone eats
Set the visual bar for everything the products touch, from product UI to marketing site to packaging
Ship with engineers weekly

Our take

Food delivered to your door often gets cold and soggy as it travels in a courier's bag from the restaurant to your home. Using Wonder, customers order food from a mobile app, which is cooked in a truck right outside your door. It aims to improve the standard of home-delivered food, both the quality of product – working with world-renowned chefs – and the experience itself.

Wonder has received fair criticism surrounding poor environmental consideration, as each kitchen/van sits idle with the engine running whilst food is prepared. A study by the US Department of Energy found that banning the unnecessary idling of personal vehicles would be the same as taking 5 million vehicles off the roads.

Despite this, Wonder has sustainability strategies involving food sourcing, reducing food waste, sustainable packaging, and, notably, an emissions-neutral fleet. Wonder has received enormous funding, bringing it to a valuation of $7 billion, and the number of vans distributed across North America is expected to multiply exponentially.
