Role
Who you are
- Over the past 6+ years, you have gained an expertise in aggregating and analyzing large datasets to identify behavior trends using statistics, advanced data mining techniques, and have built data models to tackle real-world problems
- Through this work you have mastered diverse machine learning techniques to experiment with data sets while building models that have contributed to engineering & product development
- The last two years or so, you have grown from an individual contributor to managing a team of data scientists
- This is a hands-on role and we are looking for someone who has skills in one or more programming languages including SQL, Python or R and have used Cloud Platforms, bonus points for AWS
- Advanced degrees in quantitative fields like Statistics, Computer Science, and Mathematics are required (PhDs are ideal)
- Empathy and collaboration skills are vital for success
What the job involves
- Lead a small but growing team of Data Scientists and Data Operations Specialists
- Make the team successful through hands-on work, planning, and prioritization
- Build and execute on a long-term Data Science strategy
- Work closely with Engineering & Product Management teams to integrate Data Science into the Product Strategy & roadmap
- Promote data science best practices across the company
- Aggregate and analyze large datasets to identify behavior trends using advanced techniques
- Build data models to tackle real-world problems
- Master diverse machine learning techniques to experiment with data sets
- Focus on people, process, velocity, and execution within a high-growth organization

Real estate closings tend to be inefficient and fragmented, so Snapdocs provides software for closing digital loans and mortgages. The company provides a suite of cloud-based products that simplify the process, reducing the cost of deals and increasing the efficiency of closing them.
The appeal of Snapdocs is that it connects all the various parties involved in establishing a mortgage. This eliminates much of the friction that can slow down closes, making everything swifter and more efficient. Like many industries, real estate is starting to favour the online space for improved customer experience, which creates great opportunities for the company.
An impressive list of settlement agents has started using the Snapdocs platform, including Googain, Bell Bank and Lenders One Cooperative. With good early uptake, the company is set for further expansion within the market as its patented technology sees more adoption, integration and implementation.
