Who you are
- 3+ years of engineering management experience
- Strong technical background with experience in architecting and scaling SaaS systems
- Strategy & Roadmap - Work with Product leaders and leadership team to influence the product vision and strategy and build a 3-6 month roadmap around it
- Proven leadership skills – ability to manage engineers and build high-performing teams
- Startup mindset – comfortable with ambiguity, rapid iteration, and fast decision-making
- Excellent communication & collaboration skills – ability to work across teams and influence stakeholders
- Talent Development – a track record of recruiting, mentoring, and growing top engineering talent
What the job involves
- We are looking for a Director of Engineering to lead teams focused on building a Lead Management & Conversion, Automations, and CRM Integrations—critical areas that help local businesses streamline their workflows and close more deals efficiently
- Directly and indirectly manage high-performing engineering teams, fostering a culture of ownership, technical excellence, and collaboration
- Drive innovation using AI-powered automations that connect businesses with their leads in real time
- Provide technical guidance to ensure our systems are robust, scalable, and designed for long-term success
- Work with Product leaders and Exec team to define medium-to-long term vision and roadmap
- Navigate fast-changing environments, make data-driven decisions, and adapt quickly to new challenges
- Recruit top engineering talent, mentor future leaders, and create an environment where engineers thrive
- Work closely with Product, Design, and Go-to-Market teams to align engineering efforts with business goals

Podium’s customer messaging platform offers small to medium-sized local businesses a range of solutions for communicating with their customers. The tool helps them to attract reviews, gain feedback, operate webchat as well as manage marketing campaigns and payments.
Since its 2014 launch, the company has evolved from an early focus on customer reviews to cover payment and messaging solutions. With a focus on SMS communications, it's already powering over 100,000 businesses in the US such as La-Z-Boy, Trane Technologies, Zerorez, Ken Garff Auto Group, and Rotmans. Its most recent valuation put Podium at over $3 billion.
Podium is continuing to come out with new services, including the full payments offering with the launch of card readers and a new campaign marketing solution. Its foray into payments has gone better than planned, perhaps unsurprisingly so considering the forced shift to mobile and digital payments in recent years.
