What the job involves
- We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Energy team
- You will lead the delivery of high-priority, cross-functional projects that are critical to our energy business
- This includes industry initiatives such as Market wide mandatory Half Hourly and SmartMeter programmes You will navigate the complex landscape of industry-wide regulatory changes and metering transformations, ensuring our activities remain compliant, efficient, and market-leading
- You will be responsible for orchestrating resources across Commercial, Finance, Product, Tech, Operations, and Regulatory teams to deliver seamless end-to-end change
- We are looking for an inclusive leader who can foster a culture of transparency and shared goals to build high-performing squads
- You should excel at relationship building, forming strong bonds with both internal and external stakeholders to drive outcomes
- With strategic influence, you’ll challenge and align senior stakeholders, while your resilience and adaptability allow you to navigate shifting industry deadlines and regulatory pivots with ease
- Own the full lifecycle for complex energy initiatives, system changes, and business efficiency or growth initiatives—from discovery to post-implementation review
- Lead the response to mandated energy industry changes, ensuring UW’s regulatory requirements are met and processes are aligned
- Manage large-scale projects, including SMETS2 deployments and legacy meter exchanges, to optimize customer outcomes and P&L
- Align diverse teams across the business to act as a cohesive unit
- Oversee project budgets and resource allocation to ensure maximum ROI and timely delivery
- Your team and the people you will work with include experts from across Commercial, Finance, Product, Tech, Operations, and Regulatory teams
- As a Project Manager within Commercial Energy Projects, you will act as the central point of contact for cross-business initiatives linked to Energy
- You will work collaboratively to align these diverse teams, ensuring that our energy business remains compliant, efficient, and market-leading
